dumbest thing a guitarist ever said to you

Other performer(other band) to me. Nice pedalboard, what power supply?

I answer-1spot.

He goes*WTF(i dont use vulgarities)* i ask u what powersupply. now how many spots you take up...

Im like. Stunned. Shocked, and laughing like mad. *drops to the floor and faints, then picks up my strat and plays a nice solo). hahahaha.

Another time, the other guitarist from that band came over and was like nice guitar. Can i try? I agreed and he sat down with my guit(Squier back then and was using an ME50/now some pedal freak!) he say eh the guitar sound wierd(DUH i just restringed and havent had the time to tune). So what he did was max out all the knobs on my me50...(SCREWING UP ALL MY SETTINGS) and then step on every stinkin footswitch. then he use the exp pedal..(set to octave) eh. how come the guitar sound like bass....................... Honestly speaking i felt like rippin that guys head off man. haha. but now. when in school no one tries my pedalboard unless i know the person well and the person can sound good through my gear, hahaha.

I was doing sound for an event and the guitarist was yelling at me,"Eh Mic! Can you turn on the mic?!"

told to me by a guitarist, nothing to do with guitar playing but find it rather amusing :p,

'i must have been a womanizer in my previous life and i'm here to return the debts this lifetime'

It was said by my school principal when he performed infront of the whole school in the hall.
goes something like this..
'I just bought this guitar, cost 3k.. its a JEEPSON guitar(Gibson, hummingbird)'

I almost died..
btw i use dunlop .5* and .6* picks to play metal... dont like thickies..

Top thread  brought back many memories, if you know what i mean ;)

We should start another thread listing our guitarist gripes :P i think i'll do that right now.

the dumbest thing... hmm..
shop keeper : what type of bridge do you have?
guitarist: hmm.. vintage bridge..
Shopkeeper: u sure..?
guitarist: well... hmm.. what is a vintage bridge huh?

i dunno whether my fren was stupid or stupid la..he asked me this "eh electric guitar must use electric ar?" and "can use nylon strings for electric guitar anot ar?" stupid questions man.HAHA

Tommy Emmanuel

Was at Tommy Emmanuel's master class last year at the victoria theatre.. This asked a question:

This : Hi Tommy, how come I cannot play as fast as you...

Crowd: *laughter*

Tommy: Hmmm.. I practise...

"why my guitar no sound?" (nv on the amp)
"why my guitar no sound?" (nv turn up the volume knob)
"why my guitar no sound?" (cable plugged in the output instead of input)

dumbest thing a guitarist could have ever asked if he/she didnt check all those.

yea... it was kinda stipid hahaha. cos using a good guitar doesn't make u play good. For me, I think it's the skill and effort u put in.

I kinda disagree on that. Using a good guitar gives you the motivation to push yourself to play well, at least it worked for me, the moment i got my iceman, I was inspired to practice HARD everyday. I think certain softies here would attest to that.

last time when i had a crappy guitar, i only practiced once a month for 10mins, after i got a mt-2 pedal and a tony iommi, i practice almost everyday for about 1 hour each..haha..

anyway.. for the thread
i find it amusing how guitarists find harmonics and tapping really cool.. then they will start asking "eh how u do that weird weird sound ah?"
