dumbest thing a guitarist ever said to you

sumtink true spoken to me some time back...

1) in a studio...
me: u never do homework ah? or at least listen to the song we send?
him: u noe me la bro... i where got do homework one...

2) "bro, i got tis effects for like 9yrs but i dunno how to find a gd tone,dunno how to save patches. can help? i wanna sound like wes borland..."

3) "wah? u now turn to analog ah? can help me get dist, delay, reverb, flanger pedals? i oso wanna use analog la"

4) *few months later... " wah!!! u use gt8 ah? i oso want to buy la. then u teach me hor..."



i pity the person. and pity my ears
 
My classmate's cousin gave him an Epi LP Special. He asked me via SMS,

"What do the two knobs do?"
"One controls the volume and the other controls the tone."
"I don't hear any difference... or do I need to plug it in?"
 
this just happened just now while jamming.
*bassist plugs bass into podxt and tunes bass*
*plugs back in*
B: "Eh why no sound ah?"
D: "Oh maybe the high gain spoil la. Maybe you got to put at the low gain"
*both scramble with the settings while i watch*
Me: "Er maybe you forgot to plug into your bass"
B: "Oh ya hor!"

i'll treaten clumsy classmates with "touch my guitar and you'll die a virgin!" :twisted:
or tell small kids "touch that bag all your hair and teeth will drop off"
 
Uhh... It was not really a guitarist but like a band lah.
Me & my band went for jamming so like we went for a short break, then we came across another studio and heard some 12 - 13 year olds playing wake me up when september ends. We laugh like hell cos like the drummer was totally out of beat, the guitarist was following the drummer and the singer was totally off-key. Since we dont want to make them feel pai seh we stand one side to laugh. Then we peek through their window, then they saw us, then we could hear them shouting "OMG they wanna hear us play, lets play!!!" And we laughed and laughed until forgot to go back to our practice.
 
12-13...shite...I didnt learn guitar till i was 17 man....

now these cats are jaming at that age and posting their sessions on Utube?
 
"if pedal A can do high gain, it is better than pedal B (low-med gain pedal) as pedal A can do whatever pedal B can do but it can go higher gain"
*rephrased a bit from the actual thing i heard, but identical meaning is there*

im supposing a metal zone can do whatever a zendrive can do, and hence is better?

gotta be the stupidest thing i ever heard (regarding guit)

yeah,the proud posting of their guitar playing on youtube when they can't even fret a barre chord is rather dumb..too much thought of being a rockstar rather than actually playing like a rockstar.
 
I hold and strum open C Chord but this guy from a guitar shop say........


He said "Wah cool.... Jazz chord... you are a really good jazz player?????!?!?!?!?!"
 
One day i brought my electrical guitar to school. and started playing it without plugging it into the amp. One of my classmates was like:
" Is that a guitar? why no sound 1??"
 
xfigox: no sound?? ur friend must be deaf..i sometimes play my electric unplugged.there ARE sounds..only that is relatively soft.
 
when i was 12-13 i didn't know shit about guitar bass or drums man. Give the kids some credits yo!

hate to brag but, im 12 and i play the guitar just fine, i play the drums just as good, when you learn guitar, your bound to learn bass, and once you get the theory and notes right with the guitar, with enough practice the keyboards on rhythm is not hard at all. If you guys don't believe me you can check my vids on youtube, but their not very good cos that time I was only 11, but the best I have done is Canon Rock by Jerry C, done quite sloppily though.

At a school gig:

Mr Ego to his bandmates: KNN...the other band use so many pedals still so noob...we never use then we so zai!

At another school gig few months later:

Mr nose: Eh...u sure u using overdrive for this song?

Mr Ego: can la...i full blast the drive then will sound like distortion lor.

i still remember when i wanted to play in a small showcase in sec sch b4....

I was composing a song using my acoustic guitar. But b4 the showcase

"eh, this song use electric guitar eh!! Can or not?"

wtf....
