Does S'pore Drummers Here In "Soft" Have Meet-Ups

Bro Reuben - - yes I bought the Pearl Eliminator Double Pedal (Chain Type) liao at S$350 (still in superb & brand new condition)...good buy. It's model is P2002C..but I don't know it's double or single CHAIN lah. Wah tell you har I chia-lat liao..the blady Hardware cost me so much cause I am changing all hardware for my MLX to Brand New Gyrolock Series and Eliminator Series...Pocket burn big big hole liao lah. Going to Swee Lee later in the afternoon get another single Eliminator Pedal & Foot-Cowbell Bracket and some Cymbal stands.

Bro liveinsin - - thanks for this info, are you joining us?..do come

Bro rla - - Kekeke  you miss out kari (from Malaysia) lah...so lets add kari name and take out Bro hi name.

bro RD: yes.. Pearl Ellims pedal come with dual chain. The single chain one is lower model. Im too plan to change my old-rusty-stock hi-hat stand to the elliminator one but Bentley here in KL price is RM650 that is SGD285.988. So I maybe opt for lower model than Ellims... the H-1000/H-1000K that cost only RM450/SGD198. Its great to have Pearl supporter here. Go Pearl!!!

I got my Eliminator hihat stand at the last SL sale of 2006..it was one of the best buys IMO! It's heavier by far than any of my other stands. KC, at the sale here, the elim hh stand only cost SGD$150. :)

Check out my kit specs in the other snare thread..just posted there.

and ORD, is official release date... whereby ppl got their PINK ICs back after serving the nation for 2 years or more ah...

Bro, this part is salah..

ORD stands for Operationally Ready Date, after NS, you go on to ORNS... You only get 'released' when you're 40 or 50, depend on your status and rank.

Under the Enlistment Act, Chapter 93 of the Singapore Statutes 1992, you will continue to fulfil your military obligations up to the age of 40 for NS Warrant Officers, Specialists and Enlistees (WOSEs), and 50 for Officers.

Upon reaching the statutory age limit of 40 for NS Warrant Officers, Specialists and Enlistees (WOSEs) and 50 for Officers, you will no longer be liable for National Service call-ups. You will be notified of this change of status and henceforth, you would not need to apply for Exit Permit or inform MINDEF Notification Centre when you travel overseas. Read FAQs on Completion of NS Liability for more details.

Alamak, OT again, maybe we should start a new official thread that's specifically for the event.

yeah weckl.. you are right....

i know wat it means.. but purposely wrote it wrongly..
see others got attentive or not.. hahahahahahah

marcdadrummer - - - - Nothing confirm from your friends as yet...Rueben will not put it in here (till 100% confirm by them - like you..you must come...if not you chai-see har.

As regards to my Father-In-Law Workers - they are using these machine everyday...as they custom made any "Ship's Spare Parts"...but knows nothing about Cymbals of course....

I guess they might be able to help - if you clearly tell them what you want them to do..- maybe they can cut Lobang here and there on your cymbal also - to make some nice design lah - as for the sound - it's yours to take. You wanna make your cymbal smaller from 14" to 13 inches also can I pressume - just cut lah. Of course Anvil they have it there - but they do not know how to hammer a Cymbal definetely. You wanna drill hole put rivets - no problem - big hole big rivet also can lah. You wanna make spare parts & design your own gears/lugs -lagi no problem - but got to pay for Material cost & workmanship lah correct?. Die-Casting is expensive as they have to design the mole :smt005 (sorry should be mould) for you lah.

I know they are not train to use arm-pit (manual) strength to tahan the blade from flying off one lah :smt075 - they use the Machine to clamp it...but also need skill here to perfect the workmanship-

Only one problem - How to hold the Cymbal to the Machine (I do not know if that could be done)- if that could be done - the rest no problem I guess.

DullTheater - - - From the name she is not a Malay or a Chinese lah ...she's :smt061 an Indian lah ...Kekekekeke. Available or not see your own Kang-Hu liao lah. Aiyah just show her that "You Are Very Good In Your STICK WORKS"... flare until her Eye open big-big, mouth open wide, then see the Saliver drip down her chin, then you go wipe it for her :smt005 - sure she fall for you one lah... ....Whahahahaha :smt040 Make sure you execute Stick-Control Technique on the day har.......

Ok... ok... don't be distracted from the real intent of the gathering...

I will just flow along with whatever topic of interest... 8)

i no preferance lah.. just whatever you guys like... would be interesting...

anyway the machine for lathing looks pretty cool

if you make a 14" into a 13', wont the sound alot more different.. not only by tone.. but like its actual sound? because of the initial balance of the cymbals

BRO's count me in!

bro, RD, can check with ur father in law about the lathing machine anort?

my guess it should be the same lathing machine u see at the picture Bro hozea put up....

Hopefully i Don't kena NS by than... cya around guys!

The lathing machine for cymbals is different from the industrial lathing machine... not so easy... you need a backing that will fit the profile of the cymbal bottom while lathing the top side and vise versa...
