do you think i got cheated?

First 2 qns:
The more you assume, the harder you fall. Hence I try not to assume on matters that seems to be in my advantage. This way if it turns out not to be at least I have my ass covered.

I see the trend prevalent in both older and younger generations: think IT for the older generations - assumed to be a good stable industry to work in the past but now outsourced to countries such as India.

This thread makes a good example for the younger generations.

Last qn:
What do you mean by good parenting? It's a very broad issue. Also, I don't see the link of accountability on the internet with assumption on certain matters that benefit you. Care to enlighten?

Ps. Maybe start a new thread on this?

Sorry, all I have said can be linked back to the original tread topic and target the various tread posters comment. My aim not to OT.

Just that the meanings have to be dug a bit deeper to be pondered upon. At face value it may be confusing to some, but to be blunt will invite flame. My goal is not to offend, but educate. Be strict, yet tactful.

ok you've really lost me. You mentioned changing topics and asked me questions which I've answered. Sorry but I don't see the link in your reply to the questions you've asked me?

to the thread starter. you are not cheated. you basically paid for a service.

let's put turn the table and switch places. if you were the repairman and i call you up to check on my tv. i would still pay you $20 for your time and effort. coz i respect you as a professional.

yes, maybe the repairman who came to your place was old and not very good with communication. this could be the reason why you feel he did not do his job.

but you could be right too. that he is out to con people this way. i urge you to report this to the police and take the required action. coz by telling us will not stop him from doing more harm. let the police investigate.

it is all up to you now. make sure you discuss with your family/lawyer before going to the police.
