Hi guys.
I started out playing at the WTC in 1995 ,youth park and all that then.
Yes, although we werent paid to play then, we appreciated the fact that our music was showcased.
We would chalk up huge cash for the countless hours of jamming in studios, trying to sound tight, and not forgetting the small things like bus fare, guitar strings, batteries and etc.
At that age, 15-18, everthing was done in the name of music, sacrifices had to be made.
Now i'm playing only for money when we get booked for gigs/functions where we are the solitary COVER(keyword)band.
I have a full time job, and this part-time money earning hobby pays pretty well for me.
I'm happy where I am, and am eternally grateful to my roots(the organisers then)
Was it worth it back then?HELL YES! Experience = $PRICELESS
Moral of the story:
everyone has to start from somewhere, with all the sacrifices and the lack of satisfactory conditions.
Use this opportunity to improve yourself, you'll be amazed at the learning experience this gives you.
True voice, just relax and let those who need this do this, its not as if the conditions are unclear, they know exactly what they are doing it for.
PS.
We didn't even get prawn crackers then
Have faith guys, you'll be the future of the local scene.
My 2 cents.
Ps.
No offence to anyone ah.
