Do Bassists get the girls?n worst things said by non-bassist

but while we are on the topic of famous bassists, paul mccartney could have EASILY gotten alot of girls (though he is currently in the process of a messy divorce)

but the beatles are cheating. heck, i bet even their techs could get the girls

The red parts don't really apply to me though. In fact the red parts don't even have anything to do with bassists getting girls. If guitarists/drummers wear like that they'll get girls too. It's just the 'bad boy' look that girls like.

And the worst things I've heard (which wasn't really that bad) were, "Bass must be easier to play, got lesser strings leh.." and "I think bass and drums are pretty useless if they don't have a band.."

ok seriously, from girls view the first thing they look at a band is the drummer, coz it's always hard to see and they want to know who's behind that drum. next to the vocalist, (if he has a nice voice), then to the guitarist (esp the lead), last will be us...

actually while on the topic, which some of you mentioned that guitar is "suggested" to be more difficult than bass and bass is nothing but root notes.... i personally feel that bass is a lot more difficult to play than a guitar. A bass needs more than just root notes, namely stamina, sustenance and "oomph" factor.... and any cock up or choke of notes during the course of play sounds loud and clear even when the whole band is playing so in a way the band relies heavily on the bass.... as opposed to a guitar.... anything in the key of the song would sound "correct" and even string chokes or missed notes can also be passed off as deliberate (as long as its not too off)... so there, my two cents worth.... btw I'm a long time guitarist who has absolutely no talent in bass =)

we play music cos we're passionate about it. Not passionate to play music just to attract the attention of girls! I hate these kind of musicians.. well they dont deserved to be called musicians to me, just posers... Who cares if i dont get the girls or watever, as long as I am dedicated, passionate and love what I am doing is far more important. And that is MUSIC. *peace*

girl abc: Hey can you teach me how to play bass?
me: ... umm... but i'm not that good...
girl abc: its easier than guitar right?
(girl abc continues before I am able come up with a counter argument)
girl abc: but drums more cool I shall go learn drums instead

And then she walks away. I was highly amused by her. But I wish her well in whatever instrument she decided to pursue (if any) in the end.
