i just heard Ihsahn's album angL. blown away, especially on the track that mikael akerfeldt from opeth was featured on vox.

or perhaps its me being biased cos i like opeth wahahaha.

moonsorrow anyone?

(sorry lazy to read all 11 pages rofl)

Far East.

Oh, I like Opeth too! F**king mind-blowing and wow!

Anyone listen to Thorngoth here? I think they are good!

there's a cult anticipation for angL especially when Ihsahn's debut sounded very much like Prometheus... fans are expecting some fresh ideas from this visionary

But at least Prometheus was a league of its own. If Ihsahsn decides to continue with the sound, I think it's okay.

Prometheus was a side-step in terms of the Emperor materials, it's a unique offering but if Ihsahn would further his music in this light, it'll be boring. it's his prerogative anyway.

I think that's subjective. Some might really like it, others won't.

So, it's really Ihsahn's prerogative. I hope he continues to come out with more brilliant works. I really like him.

ihsahn another gay who just prefers his old classical ways.. as he was never a true blackmetal musician compared to samoth the guy who composed the blackmetal side of emperor..

it seems that this place kinda look dead.. is it due to the over constraint of highly egoistic musicians? or just the atmostphere of dead musicians? well,i dont think there is much black/death metal fans or musicians down here either.. either they are fags wearing band tees showing around that they listen to this and that or some wankers showing their trueness in the scene.. what a bummer..

So did I.

By the way, black metealheads are really a minority. You can't expect this forum to be full of them. The proportion is not right. Simple mathematics will tell you. I believe you're the more egoistic musician, Genocide Blackwolf.

If that's your way of announcing your entry into Soft, I really have nothing to say.

And to date, Emperor was never really true black metal.

pertaining to Ihsahn: you have to understand the individual's philosophy rather than be dismissive of his character with reference to media fodder.

there are indulgers of the genre who, over time, had moved on. because they were pivotal in their involvements when they started out, people tend to belittle their current accommodation especially so when they are quite removed from their previous life.

death/ black metal is a music genre. people who are into classical music do not go round looking like mozart just to show there exist a true appreciation. the true fans of death/ black metal are small indeed but the people who appreciate the music instead of the facade, culture & other entanglements, are even smaller.
