I think I would categorized brutal death metal into two kinds ... One being slam death metal , other being more technical ... Bands like Devourment , Cephalotripsy and Guttural Secrete uses slam riffs and I think it doesn't work for me ... I prefer bands like Nile , Origin and Spawn of Possession

Anyone listens to Decapitated and Psycroptic? They are two extremely talented and young technical death metal bands. I totally dig Decapitated's drums and Psycroptic's guitar riffs. Sadly, Decapitated is now on hiatus ever since the unfortunate death of their drummer in an accident (RIP).

i think that the doomish sound of nile in their new album worked in their favour for having an
uber heavy sound
i am so looking forward for morbid angel's new album, hopefully they get the Myrkskog guy to play in it

I'm waiting for Morbid Angel's new album too. It's probably gonna be one of the biggest event to happen this year.

Opeth just released a new album. I wonder if Innokki has it. It's a long time since I last went down.

The other time I went, I got Suidraka.

i am putting this thread to a close. it's rather upsetting to see a clash of philosophies when a simple gathering of music fans is all there is to it from the start (music, not culture). perhaps there's too much generation gap involved & the fact that people get too perturbed too easily in this faceless, virtual, realm (not worth it IMO, but if you choose to get too sentimental, it reflects your tolerance threshold).
