friends, just checking if there are any death/ black metal fans here. it's difficult to gather fans of this genre who are gear-inclined, or to get them to talk about their set-up even. those who even bothered to sign up @ forums are even fewer... 8)

it's ok... take your time 8)

listening to anything good lately? i'm still stunned by Marduk's 'Plague Angel'...

i got scolded and lectured by my dad last time just because he saw the songs from marduk and satyricorn in the computer. haha. too bad for me.

R u talkin abt true underground kvlt black metal bands or the more mainstream ones? Hehe.. 8)

As for me I love all kinds of metal and IMHO one of the best amps for metal is definately ENGL amps! Too bad theres no local distributors that bring those amps here...

i'm talking about all sorts of black metal- anything worth mentioning here...

i draw lots of inspiration from Satyricon's lyrics, IMO Satyr's are one of the best, very philosophical, less inclined to pay homage to satan, definitely.

it's really sad if one's dad keeps watch over what one listens to- no offence to anyone of course, it's really a message to the dads out there- when you're not looking, your children are gonna do what you told them not to, anyway... i'm glad my spouse leaves me alone with my black metal...

when it comes to extreme music in general, there's no one gear that rules over everything else. i'm using my fender tele currently to play these kinda songs...

yeah tats true subversion....my parent allows me to do anyting tat im interested in but always keep it clean....okok....havent hear the marduk "plague angel" yet...hmmm....for me i always luv children of bordom and lamb of god riff....complex yet deadly...heheheh...as for black metal....i only luv dimmu borgir.....melodic kind of black metal.....but don get me wrong,i luv all kind of metal actually....i even luv korn(i don care who want to insult them of lacking of solo)...any comment guys

i've listened to Bodom/ Lamb but can't quite bring myself to like them. lately i'm listening to Anaal Nathrakh/ Tsjuder/ Dark Throne/ Aura Noir/ among others... trying to pick the best release for 2004 actually but kinda difficult...

hey u using a fender tele...i recently got this cheap guitar from a fren of mine with single-single-humbucker....recently just bought a duncan invader...very thick bass sound...any recommendation of single coil pick up with gd highs and mids but not the bass....a fren recommend me a duncan hot rails?any comment?hey btw,u mean satyr is not into satanic beliefs?

aha... i'm an Invader user- love it. people say it's too bass-inclined but if you refer to the Duncan tone chart, the mids exceed the bass. it sounds bassy because the treble is severely reduced...

anyway, this humbucker is in my Ibanez S540, it's a great complement to the mahogany body which has bright accoustics. besides high gain settings it's suitable for fusion type settings, a worthy jazz candidate when clean too, no kidding. with the right amp settings, it's a rewarding humbucker...

yes, i'm a Hot Rails user too, have it in my tele in fact... it's made to match the tone of an Invader, has a complementary bass response. but if i were you, i wouldn't want to duplicate an Invader tone in the same guitar, i'd rather have some versatility- have a good single coil tone in there + maybe a blues-rock tone too...

ok not to veer off too much, this is suppossed to be a violent death/ black metal thread.... just kidding 8)

the only single coil that's able to keep up with the Invader is the Duncan Quarter Pound (but it doesn't have as much bass response), but it's very noisy under lots of drive- typical single coil...

there is this tendency to dismiss death/ black metal players as incompetent, we know the late Dimebag isn't such an individual...

Hi sub,
i listen to kreator and old sepultura..
the newer metal bands i feel sound too digital...

i`ve got the invader on my squire stagemaster as well...

i dont think that metal players are incompetent, to tell u the truth i still cant play some of Kreators Riff correctly.

There are metal playes that shred too...
