Not sure if anyone else has this problem but whenever i turn the volume knob on my crunchbox, there's this crackling sound... How? How?! How?!? HOW?!?!?!?!:'(
"ok don't panic don't panic AHH!"
-Quote from chicken run.

woah. Nocturnal softies. Hahaha. Nah. Not cables or guitar cause i changed them. It only happens when i adjust the volume on the volume knob on the crunchbox. :(

try contact cleaner first, spray a bit and turn pot few times.

If dont want to open the thing up, removed the pcb/jacks inorder to get excess to the pot and spray, find a techie at the shop or anyone who like stripping pedals to do it.

If wanna skip the contact cleaner part, go straight to replacing the pot, but get the vaule and taper right first.

No DO NOT use wd-40. It leaves a residue if you don't wipe it off clean, which may spoil your pedal.
I've heard of one guy use wd-40 on his Boss's circuit board (because of some crackling too). Initially, the problem was solved. But the next day, the pedal didn't work.

Die ah.. I use WD40 already. How?? My pedal now become clearer, no cracking sound! Is that a symptom of a vintage pedal gone un-vintage? oh my god!

Ripper, good for you then that nothing bad happened... for now.

Its pretty clear why WD40 is not recommended because it leaves an oily residue which gets more gunk stuck in it - so I don't see the point of your sarcasm.

oil=heavy
heavy=firm
firm=sustain
sustain=weight
weight=tone
tone=oil

Thats why del ray/pre morley had oil can delay!
