Cheap guitars vs Branded guitars!!!

in case you didn't know, a ferrari is quite light... the tires are BUILT to handle curves... ok, you have to DRIFT in a lousy car to turn, otherwise you lose speed if you do the F1 way, where you brake first, then turn later... F1 cars can accelerate fast, so they can avoid drifting... a boy racer car cannot, if it brakes and turn, it'll lose alot of speed, and how fast can it go?a ferrari, the moment you press on the acceleration pedal(say from zero) its already at 40 miles probably... some things cannot be judged by skill, lets say cars, guitar(obviously can, maybe some PS2 games and other stuff)... put solberg in his subaru on a road track, and put a ferrari beside it, and go drag racing, sure he MIGHT have faster accleration, but how fast can he go? 180? 200? the 360 would SMOKE him off with its 260kph speed...

A ferrari is light? You kidding? Monster trucks lighter! You said a ferrari can blow a subaru in any track. Obviously a ferrari cannot run down a mountain.

i said road tracks... a 360 weights 1.4 tonnes, a subaru weighs 1.53 tonnes, which is lighter you tell me... dont believe, go weigh a real one...

well, a subaru can never outrun a ferrari, lets say a 285 bhp WRX STi with a 360 modenna... the 360 has larger ventilated discs than the subaru, it has more air intakes than the subaru, and it displaces a 395bhp... therefore, it has better handling, accleration and top speed...

Do I see the words "road track" in there?
No.

what u guys tink of TGM guitars? cudnt find any inf on this 'company' on the web. No websites no info....nth. was planning on their black warlock...bud now...i duno man need ur advice.

i think their quality is not good man. i mean u can get a samick at the same price, but i would definitely not go for a TGM.

TGM is ranking's own brand, according to them. They are relatively lousier in terms of build quality and sound. I've heard horror stories about how the tuner broke off after only 3 days of usage. Will rather get a J&D, Craftsman, SX or Samick at about 20 bucks more.

I personally would not get a TGM guitar. I don't know about their accoustics but I've played on a TGM les paul copy and it didn't impress me in any way...and I like ranking sports.

my first guitar was a tgm strat copy. its crap man..damned heavy and didnt really sound good. i sold it off for 12 bucks.

Played a TGM acoustic in my previous music school before, the acoustic looked brand new, but when I hit the strings, one of the loose tuners start to "vibrate" as well..bad experience

Yeah lets be kiasu and not give budget manufacturers a chance, even if it means saving hundreds of dollars if you stumble on a good piece.

but if it was really Singapore's company we've got to support what

Someone has to start somewhere before they become great. Who knows TGM will be the next PRS

does anyone know if Ranking is the actual manufacturer or is it "white-labelled" i.e. a generic product, built by a 3rd party, and branded to Ranking's requirements.

When I went to a US NAMM show, I noticed many China-based companies that build Strat/Gibson/Jackson/PRS near-copies.

These OEM manufacturers build the guitars, which can be labelled/branded with another company's/retailer's brand logo.

TGM is a brand which has gone through at least 2-3 generations already. These are OEM/ODM manufactured instruments, meaning a specialist factory will build to the customer's requirements and specs.

Maybe the first generation guitars were so called "testing ground" instruments. I have personally gone through a number of used TGMs and seen the quality differing in the make. Possible TGMs of the past were built from a different OEM/ODM factory, I admit the old versions have some undesirable flaws and defects.

The current batch of TGMs has already gain a lot of grounds in terms of built quality and workmanship. The affordability still remains the main stay of this brand.

I stand by the current TGMs such that I also carry these instrument at my studio for sale too. So please do not write off something which previously have some bad rep, like they say, it can only get better.

Where can you get a properly built Brand New warlock, with 24frets, 2 special humbuckers, pointed headstock, body binding For less than $200???
So far only TGM has tread this teritory. There is even a Set Net black Les Paul selling for under $300.

Those interested can come find me...heehee..
