CAVEvents Apology For 17th March

you are incorrect, I'm THE ONE WHO PROVIDES THE BLACK AND WHITE. Normally there is a contract for every show that is conducted in GH.
I was only aware that the 17th was booked when Visa told me there was a swap with Extreme music due to their cancellation 2 days ago. It is not uncommon for us to have 'filler' shows during cancellations as most of you have seen me post up free venue hires before. The 23rd was booked by myself.
It is the perogative of the venue OWNER to do what they like, but it is MY responsibility to mitigate events, promotions and anything to do with the outside world. Due to the chain of command not being intact yesterday (me being absent) the information was handed UP and a decision was passed DOWN. And you guys know the result.
I apologise on the behalf of the venue on handling this poorly. I should have intervened.

to watch bands like those that played yesterday...the ticket price would usually be like around 12 bucks or more!!! but it was just 5!
so although it was suppose to be a free gig...5 dollars is considered okay to watch great bands play! at least CAVE is better than those shitty organisers who cheats bands out of their wallets to pay for unsold tickets and the standard of the bands scheduled to play is always unsure whereas with CAVE you know something is good

Hey guys, this is Visa from CAVEevents. I'm sorry for not speaking so far; I've been really caught up and been in a bit of a mess lately. I personally apologized to everybody in the crowd I could.
I would like to assure you guys that not a single cent from the $5 dollars that you guys had to pay to get entry into Gas Haus went into our pockets- we wanted to do a free show and we could do nothing about it.
The Uprisal @ L Cube was a wonderful show with great crowd and happy people and bands, and Eruption @ Honeytrapp will be another great show as well.
I personally apologize for the mess-up at Gas Haus on the 17th.

Taylorboy87: I'm sorry you feel this way. THERE WAS NOTHING WE COULD DO. We had already publicised the event and the charge was only made known to us about two hours before the show, when all of us were already at the venue and unable to change anything.
The customers did ask why there was a charge, and I personally explained to as many of them as possible that it was beyond our control and that you apparently have to buy a drink to step into Gas Haus now, regardless of whether there is a show or not. Everybody inside the venue was satisfied with our apology, though we ourselves were not.

saito: it was just a huge mess man. I have SMSes in my phone from Sherry, and they went like this:
"is it ok if we share 2 bucks on each ticket?"
then i told her that there must be some miscommunication, we're doing a free show?
"yes i know. but we are charging cover right? invite your friends in la. just a token for you, 2 dollars for each ticket? is it ok with you?"
at which i told her, no, it's not okay, we've already publicized the event to the public as a free show, and if we charge now at such late notice, it will only be bad publicity for both CAVE and Gas Haus.
"i guess it's some miscommunication. as you already advertized, we can stick with no cover charge"
then i said thank you, if we can do no cover charge, we will be giving Gas Haus $6 out of $10 for our next show on the 23rd to make up for the free show on the 17th.
"Thanks, hope tonite is good. see ya tonite"
After which the Gas Haus staff present (Luke, primarily) told everybody to vacate the venue and then buy a drink to get in, which was like $5 for a soft drink. I was VERY unhappy, but decided that making a scene at that point in time would only make things worse.
to everybody:
I hope you guys can take the time to understand what exactly happen before you pass your judgement. We at CAVE should have taken more time to sort things out with the venue- we assure you that this will not happen at Eruption @ Honeytrapp, where we've already spoken with the venue on multiple occasions and have ironed out the details multiple times.
My personal apologies. I feel like I've let you guys down and it hurts. But we at CAVE will not back out just because of one bad experience- we will continue to do quality gigs at better venues.

yeah- i would also like to emphasise that the bands last night were really awesome.
A very big thank you to Black Angelica (awesome guitarist, lovely tone), SINC (grunge is still alive!), The After Effects (wicked use of flanger), Blind Meets Mute (great vocals!) and Cardinal Avenue! Photos will be up soon.
CAVE would like to emphasize that we are doing what we are doing to put up good quality shows, not to cheat anybody's money- not a single cent went into our pockets.
In fact, I have to apologize again about the schedule- we were due to start at 7pm, but because of the charges and the delays and the door girl's arrival, we had to wait over 45 minutes before the event could start, which was painful for alot of the bands (especially Cardinal Avenue who had to play last, and Blind Meets Mute who had a member who needed to rush back to camp).
You will be seeing more of these fresh and upcoming bands in CAVE shows, and at better venues. =)

Holy craps. Wasn't there @ Gashaus for the 17th mar gig but can tell things were really bad.
To the folks at CAVE - Don't take it too hard lah guys, not your fault and not much you all could do when they pulled the stunt on you at the last minute. The most important thing is that you have explained and clarified yourselves.
Apart from a couple of people who want to stick by their views, most of us still support you lah. No worries aye?

on behalf of the after effects i would once again like to thank CAVE for this opportunity!
it was a good effort but due to some unforseen circumstances certain things didnt go our way..
im sure ERUPTION will be a great show!!

miscommunication is an error in which both parties are at fault.
You gotta communicate directly with the ones who make the decision, not through a middle person.

hifi_killer: we communicated directly with the big boss AND the staff, and we had an agreement. which was not followed. 
I apologize on our behalf and assure you we will learn from the exprience.
bam: I've played at gas haus without problems before too. I must make it clear that I am not putting gas haus down as a venue.
