Can you take off all strings at once during restringing

I have always restrung by taking off all strings at once, but Ive recently read some articles that doing so will cause the neck or body to warp or flex, due to the sudden loss of tension. I thought that was pretty illogical, since factories make guitars without tension first, and also luthiers and guitar servicemen will take out all the strings most of the time for repair work on the guitar.

Is the statement above true or just a old wives tale?

And what is good to clean fret boards. Is using lighter fluid okay?

i duno why but i take off everything
clean the board and restring...

anyway bro.. use proper guitar care productions.. i personally recommend dunlop series of cleaning products.. theyre good..

haha ok so there wont be neg effects then? im quite worried cos until now my guitar is lying in the bathroom without its strings....

ok ill take note. heard that lemon oil can also be used

i always take off all the strings so i can clean up the frets and fret board and all. and clean the body properly too

i do the same. but theres recommendations on restringing one at a time to keep the neck in tension. but like that, clean frets and fretboard hard lah.

there are forums advocating a string-by-string replacement namely due to the high tension involved when one utilizes a thicker gauged string set. even so, removing all strings wouldn't cause a diverse neck reaction.

i remove all strings all the time, be it fixed bridge guitars or otherwise.

i'll usually put a thick cloth underneath the floyd rose equipped guitars then i take out all the strings at once. well that was the past, i'm using one with a vintage tremolo bridge, typical fender ones. havent tried taking out all the strings all at once though. shouldnt have any problems doing so right?

ok im comforted to say the least! :)

about the wetness of a storage area, if i decide to continue storing there would silica gel negate the problem

Nothing wrong with removing all the strings at one go. I do that all the time even with my floating bridge equipped guitars. it's really a "feel" thing this one.

juz that..if u leave ur guitar without strings for some time..

after u restring it..tune it up...leave it there..so that the neck can adjust to the tension..

detune the guitar and release the tension first, then snip the strings, dont snip them while its still in tune. i guess its pretty alright?

i take off all the strings too...
i pretty much cherish the moments of wiping
down every part of my sweetheart, especially
those hard to reach places, after taking
those little inconvenient obstacles off.

Taking of all 6 strings and cleaning the fretboard and to restring att at one shot is alright but...

I would advise you not to remove all 6 strings for a duration of more than a day or 2 because the truss rod inside ur neck is still bending your guitar's neck backwards when the strings are off. Can you imagine removing your guitar truss rod totally while leaving the strings on for a day?

So same goes for the strings, if u wanna take out all 6, do the cleaning and changing of strings at one go (like me) and dun leave it overnight or two... just a precaution...
