wah nice man! where's the neck and stuff?

Coming in maybe 1 month's time? USACG is really tied down with orders so its like a 2 month wait... but no issue, its going to be at least 1 more month before the body is done.

Neck is a maple neck with Pau Ferro fretboard, no inlays (FINALLY) and reverse headstock.

Shred, very beautiful piece you got. How much did it cost you again?

Its cost me a mere USD300, which is almost 50% off! Why? Because of this defect...

Unbelievable eh? :D

but dude.. why didnt you just clear coat the body?

Well, I don't like that glossy glossy look... and I really prefer oil finishes, other than for tonal reasons, I love the look. Sure, a clear coat will not get dirty and stuff, but I kind of want that to happen to this guitar.. its going to be a guitar I will play and bring out to jam or perform.

50% off cos of that little smudge-like thingy on the bottom left of the pic?

8O

Good job dude...when I have the money and time I'll ask you where u got it and other stuff. :)

BTW, a slight digression, but did u try the skreddy mayo, Shred?

That's more than a smudge. That's a chuck of wood that got ripped off by the router bit but it's still an awesome price for such a good quality body.

Great work on the top Daniel. Remember, patience is the key!!!! You know who to call if you have any questions

Heheh... its not too expensive lah, if you want basic stuff, not like some 5A top lah and weird add ons... you could be looking at like 200USD (body) + 250USD (neck) + 80USD shipping.. not too exp for top quality stuff from www.usacustomguitars.com

Nope, haven't tried the Mayo, but go to google video, Fatback (TGP member) has a few vids demo-ing the Mayo.

I'm going very slowly man. And when I feel rough spots, I whip out the 00000 grade steel wool and its GONE! Hehe... I understand how this steel wool thing works and what "lightly does it" means now.

Oh ya, I HAD to itchy backside, spread a little Tru Oil on 1 side of the guitar, just to see what it does... and MY GOODNESS. I am so GLAD i went tru oil... I'm just... stunned by the way the oil brings out the grain & colour of the mahogany... I'm just being a noob here anyway.

Yeah, thanks for the help. I always have the nagging feeling I"m not doing it really right? But well, its supposed to be one of the eaiser finishes to apply so going slow.

TEASER!

A couple of POORLY taken shots with a camera phone... hehehe...

Tomorrow, I'll snap some good ones.

My USACG body, been oiling the mahogany for the past few weeks. This is what it looks like now.
