ah shredcow, where u getting the body from? USACG? the cutaway recess looks really similar to the design suhr guitars use. wats the body made of?

Hey Penta, i got the body from USACG, from the Web Specials. Its a bloody steal~!

Specs are, 1 piece mahogany body, carved (arched) top, wild maple top.

wow. it doesnt look like mahogany at all man. but i like the top. doesnt look cheesy like most quilt maple tops. looks almost suhr-ish to me. put a nice mahogany neck on it with brazilian rosewood fretboard on it and it will be complete.

Well, its a very light body to boot... maybe thats why the maho isn't so maho-looking? its around.. 4 pounds if i recall correctly.

Hehehe...

I'm going for Maple / Brazilian Rosewood at the moment, I want more brightness and clarity.

I hope it will work out man.

Talking abt the neck wood ah... not fretboard.. rosewood fretboard for me since its a maho body.

Maple neck and Mahogany neck, which is more open sounding, more clarity?

I'll be guessing Mahogany plus I rikes the feel of oil polished mahogany vs maple.

Best shreddy(hur hur hur~) email our good friend at usacg and ask him.

Who can be more qualified that the builder himself?

Haha, yes, i emailed them already, but they be very busy people, and I have very specific questions so I kind of understand their predicament if they don't respond in a way that satisfies my query.

Now googling as much as possible about maho, maple, rosewood combinations...

Gotta bug Malcolm later too.

still prefer simplicity ... you can't go wrong!!
It is known fact high grade Pine is good tone wood but rarely used !!
Zach puts it best "What a shame that they would use such amazing "tone-wood" for their cheap furniture. Its a sacrilege."

I have used quality pine as fillers ...very nice !!
