The fuzz factory, I have no idea if I will like it...

zvex!!! how can you not go wrong? haha although imho i would have settled for the flat mids mayo over the fuzz factory.. did you try following zachs advice and get a machine pedal to pair up with the ff?

Eh.. the fuzz factory is specatular!!! I love the velcro fuzz sounds, got a composition coming up with it. :D It sounds very very good.

Thanks for the link Brundy... the FF's fuzz-al platter is truely huge, mind boogling huge!

But all in all... will have to spend more time with it, before I decide to keep it or junk it. As in, sell it. Heh.

solid lah, shredcow... at the rate you buy stuff to try and then decide it's not for you, you becoming our number one 2nd hand boutique pedal reseller

:D

great way to grow the interest and encourage ppl to buy more boutique stuff... then me will wait for them to resell it hehe

like the dude selling the MI Audio blues pro on luther... is that one of the SOFTies, i wonder

Yea I finished wiring up everything last night, had a ball of the time the whole day today! I ordered a whole load of stuff from stan. On top of the viper, I got a 250k volume pot, 2 1M tone pots (they don't work very well the taper is wrong), a sprague od cap that sounds REALLY NICE, makes the guitar growl when the tone is rolled off, a brand new switchcraft jack, and a 5 way super switch, for me to do up a special kinda switching. Guitar's HSS, with the viper in the bridge, the original single coil in the middle, and a sd jb jr in the neck. For the wiring I used 22AWG wires, which I got from sim lim tower, 1 of the shops behind. Really cheap.

The switching is as follows:
Position 1 is the neck in series, position 2 is the neck in parallel, position 3 is the neck split in parallel with the middle pickup (same as position 2 in an SSS strat), position 4 is the bridge split in parallel with the middle pickup (same as position 4 in an SSS strat) and position 5 is the bridge in series.

The first tone knob affects position 1-3, and the 2nd affects 4 and 5. I wanted both the knobs to affect position 3 and 4 but I couldn't come up with a way to, due to the parallel switching for my neck pup. The switch has 4 poles. If only there is a 6 pole switch..

Anyway with all these, I get a 100% silent, hum free guitar that not only screams, but quacks as well! Here is my baby:

The saddles rock. They break the strings often tho. Used to think that it was because my trem is set slightly forward but when it's perpendicular to the post my strings break the same. I broke 3 strings at once during my last jamming session! But as with floyds, strings don't need to be replaced.. :D

Oh check out what I did with my strings this time

Nice... No more stabbing string ends! :D

Eh, your saddles break strings eh? You can take some very fine sandpaper, VERY FINE... can't rem the value, but there is this Fretpolishing sandpaper that Dunlop sells, 8000 grit i htink. Use that to carefully sand your saddles a little, should be okay after that. My edge hardly ever breaks strings, when I had the gotoh, same case.

I'm super happy. I don't really like the jb jr tho. It doesn't bite like the viper, it just mushes. It has treble but it doesn't bite. Can't explain. The viper is a weird beast.

Mine never had stabbing ends, the ends go into the post. I just decided to have the ball ends there for asthetics, since they look cool and you can only do this if you have a floyd :D I'll look out for the sandpaper. Where can I find them? Swee lee?

Yamaha combo shop has them... or you can go to some hobby shops where they sell those special (are they?) sandpaper for plastic.

I got my superfine sandpaper 4000 grit thro specialized auto paintwork shops but in Malaysia.

You guys can probably get these grades thro the bigger and better hardware suppliers here.

8000 seems to be for polishing only. Don't think it'll do much.
