Boutique Gear: When did you fall for them?

dun need to try the keeley one. the stock sd1 is alreay a good pedal if your using humbucker. and it wont sound good unless you have a decent amp.
even if u get the keeley pedal and u have a shite amp, its still the same.

agree.. the best kept secret for boutique pedals is the Boss SD-1.

Sounds like a TS-9, only better, with a holier grail tone of holiness.

If you dun believe, you can check out the local bands, they get great tone out of it.

Who cares about ZVEX stuff man.. over priced, over coloured and over hyped.

I feel that for mod pedals, can go for our local alternatives. After all, the circuitry of a modded pedal is well modded, it shouldn't be selling for alot on top of the price of the original. The exception to this case IMHO, is the Analogman Silver Mod.

I was thinking of getting that Keeley SD1 first so that I wouldn't spend thenmoney on beer. I'm currently trying to gather my own collection of gear, and before that great amp comes, I figured I have to buy a great pedal, so that you have the pedal to go with the amp when it comes. I did consider the option of getting a stock SD1 and with that extra money, I could always do something with it but in the end I figured tone comes first......

I'm a newbie at boutique gears, n I'm here to learn from all of you. Can anyone tell me whether keely SD1 would be a good buy, considering I play anything from blues to metal to classic rock? What keeley models does Guitar77 carries? Would like advices from you guys.... :wink:

get so much gear which you cant hear properly then when u get a good amp, you realise that the pedals you thought were good are not so good then you sell them at a loss.
