Boutique Gear: When did you fall for them?

Hehe. Okay, i am just waiting for mrmisse to bring in the RMC wahs.

After that can decide what to get.

Btw, nice meeting you yesterday MrE. :)

nice meeting you too, cow

Then a XL one... underneath must be motorised and can be moved around with a remote control, like those remote control cars...

Will be quite as sight to see you push a trolly, those used to push boxes around a factory, with the jack to elevate the base when you push the handle down. Fierce.

How are catalinbread pedals? anyone tried them? How about dytone and Trex?

wrt catalinbread, head on down to WMUM shop and test them. at the same time, check out the wmum pedal and beg edwin to build them. heh heh.

Okayz. Went to the shop before to get a dynacomp. Wha damn far for me la. Haha will go down when I have the time la. But I think I have too many ods/dist boxes liao(ok I know its never enough). I think I need a good analogue delay & chorus, any to recommend? h20 seems ok la, but a bit lacking in features.

What kind of features do you want? I have the Boss CE-2. It has a unique flavour and isn't overbearing, lets your tone come thru.

There's the Ibanez CS9, Edo83 has it, its quite a strong, thick chorus. You should pm him abt it.

Then hope down to analogman's website. Check out his chorus pedals. :)

For Analouge Delay, budget wise, www.cmatmods.com the Deeelay. :) NICE stuff. Lifehouse has the Keeley modded Ibanez AD9.

Haha, chingay... anyone in NUS? Rag day go make some mega big board la, haha then some guy on top can jam with like 50 plus pedals... :?

Ok thanks for the headsup. CMATMODS super no frills lah, damn steady. use marker and label, I like la. All tone no fuss. :D

Hmm...I might try building my own pedal this summer holiday. Haha will tell you guys how it goes. If I buy a new delay/chorus, well you'll know what happened :(

H20 is analog chorus but digital delay.

I prefer digital delays most of the time though.

Just read a glowing review on the Marshall Echohead pedal on TG mag. Has a really great tone as well. Not really that expensive too, maybe I'll check this out and see how it goes. Evil bay, here i come.......... 8)

Hmm, aiya before new gear comes in, the old one must go... maybe I should let go my ts-9 and Keeley ds-1... I already have a Jek & Hyd which does a super job. Decisions decisions.... :?

TS9 and Keeley DS1?

Both offer different tones as boosters (since you use the J&H). TS9 for compressed, tight stuff = great rhythm. Keeley DS1 for fat, sustained fuzz/distorted tones... = ... well... erm... fat, sustained fuzz/distorted tones!

I'd off the Keeley.

wha-la-mak.
letting go of a ts9? u gotta be kidding man. haha that pedal really packs a punch, or well, mine does.. the analogman's ts9, sexy. haha.

MrBen

Hi pple, anyone selling the Blackstar? I am selling the TCJ Gristle King.
I have too many ODs oredi...like youself i buy 1 every month...recent purchase the Barber Burn Unit...

nickyseow, nothing fantastic about the TS... its just.. a sound that people are used to hearing so its become THE tone. ;)

MrBen, I think MrE is the only SOFTie (possibly only Singaporean) to get the Blackstar.. it should be here in 1 wk.

try it with a tube amp, and you'll beg to differ. there's a reason why people base their designs on THIS pedal, and though it sounds 'pretty standard' on a solid state, it's marvellous on a tube amp.

well, this again is not a boutique od pedal...just something mass produced.

and i'm getting my hands on the original chip-based ts-9 design. should sound much warmer

but yet again, tone is subjective...you may like it, but i may not. vice versa.
