ALL bands have their advantages and disadvantages. and there are so many different genres. so you cant really compare and say that ( insert band name here) is the best band cause (insert own reason here) . and M. Shadows said that Diamonds In the Rough consists of all the songs that they thought were 'crap' to be put inside their self-titled album.
Been listening to them ever since they realeased Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. i went for the gig on 24th oct last year too! unforgettable dude. hahahaha

If you make a statement like that, people will disagree with you because they have different views, and everyone has the right to have their own favourites. Do they inspire you to play guitar? I was inspired by fall out boy's from under the cork tree to play guitar.. but I found out that there are even better bands than them.. I stopped listening to them and really dislike them when their newest album came out which is the present one... I was like you before and thought that fall out boy was the best and things like that..

Rap (critical acclaim) Country funk(Dear god) alternative(brompton cocktail, But i'm kinda dissapointed in diamonds in the rough... although it's like ok for me now... They did covers and the covers is sooo not A7X style... Dancing dead and girl i know rocks too... I still think A7X is the best band around... Do you guys agree?

First off, what so orchestral about afterlife? Doesn't mean there are violins it's called Orchestral. Go read up on Genres. And critical acclaim is rap? Oh boy, please go youtube and type some "Shizzle My Jizzle O'NIzzle" or something and listen to critical acclaim and go compare. :S And you get disappointed with their unproduced album when your first song is out from their newest?

Ok the reason people like them is because they might sound SIMILAR to metal, when they're not. Hence people think that they're listening to heavy stuff when they're listening to a7x, which is what they are far from.

The reason peopl hate them is because they pose as metalheads, when they're kinda stuck between alternative and metal. In short, they people want to be cool and listen to this 'metal' band, but are not willing to listen to the real deal. Its common to see facebook and friendster profiles saying 'Fav music : All genres except metal. a7x rox!!' etc..

Up to this day I've NEVER listened to any of their song for more than 30 seconds on the self-titled album.

The only great shit they made were the ones back in the days.The times when Synyster didnt have that 'Signature' hat and looked abit more Metal if i were put it.

They have become another band and not Avenged Sevenfold that we've listened through the days.

I like 'Chapter four', it's the only song by A7x I can play in its entirety by heart, mainly because my band covers it. I like the way the vocals are harmonized in the verse (Zacky is singing the verse while M. Shadows is doing the distorted background vocals), it's just very cool.

I find genre stereotyping quite ridiculous, I think the whole A7x being metal thing was started by Hit Parader magazine. That magazine lists hard rock bands like Godsmack as heavy metal. The most misled magazine I've ever come across.

I'm not a hardcore fan of A7x but I like their music purely because their music is good to my ears. And Zacky and Synyster can perform their lead parts live, unlike Herman Li and Sam Totman.

You know,that's the best line i have seen about Avenged Sevenfold so far.

Who cares whether it's "Not-So-Metal" or "Wow that looks really metal". I'm just surprised how people dislike bands because of the genre-barrier that magazines or polls group them in, instead of just listening to whether their music is still good.
