What claire_86 said is not nice, but it's almost praise compared with that some Americans say about Chinese. Don't believe me, check out Youtube... An emo poseur even said all Chinese should be killed. But with regards to bashing Chinese immigrants, true that they do get some benefits but don't forget they have to live with our hostility all the time, as claire_86 has just displayed.

To be honest many of these Chinese immigrants are nicer than some of our own people any day.

It's quite ridiculous that our men are expected to do national service for two (or more) years and reservist but these ATs are given free education just like that.

Barbaric aliens invading our beautiful city... Like it was so bright and shiny before they came? Then why did we have to ban the sale of chewing gum because it created problems on the MRT trains? Why do we have such high fines for littering? Corrective Works Orders?

These Chinese Nationals (many of whom i've met) are now Singaporeans by citizenship. They bring a WEALTH of exposure and training that we previously did not have much resources to. They are professional, and efficient, if a bit hard to understand because of their heavy accents. I have learnt much working with them, and they do feel discriminated against. Sad for a country that calls itself First World huh?

Those you are referring to are doing jobs that Singaporeans themselves don't want to do. The law states that every 2nd generation male must serve NS. Their children will do so eventually as well. So where's the concern? Those who bring their children here will have to see their kids serve NS. Also the law.

It sometimes strikes me when I notice many of them are more proud to call our country home as compared to some of our less enthusiastic countrymen who do nothing but complain about their lives in Singapore.

It's also funny that you call the Ah Tiong, when Tiong isn't even a chinese (mandarin) term. It's hokkien, which is a dialect.

Singapore already has been invaded by aliens in the form of Ah Tiongs.

I was at Selegie the other day, opposite Tekka Mall and was surprised to see two ATs helping the Indian boss carrying stuff and serving food. You know, in these Indian small restaurants - it's always staffed by an all Indian crew, so seeing two young ATs in an Indian restaurant near Little India - wow.

They are practically everywhere now - even driving SBS buses.

I won't be surprised that soon, our MRT and NEL trains will be driven by ATs.

Yes, maybe there's nothing wrong with them working here but when you are a non-Mandarin speaker and you try to speak to them - they look at you like YOU are the alien. Most of them are so stupid, they can't even think of asking their managers or colleagues for help. They'll just stand there and give you a look of pity because you can't speak their language. :roll:

I hope they don't bring along their cultures of spitting their gunk on the pavements nonchalantly, create noise pollution with their irritatingly noisy chatter, elevate health concerns because of their lack of regard for basic hygiene (see the countless complaints on Stomp regarding foodstalls manned by ATs), negatively influence our young with their greed and materialism (haven't you heard of the almost daily occurrences of their people standing by at execution sites of 'political prisoners' and cutting up the executed 'criminals' the minute they die and take away the internal organs for sale) and all the numerous, unspeakable and undesirable traits associated with ATs?

Even if you have strong opinions about something, you should at LEAST phrase them in a way that exhibition some form of tact OR intellect.

You want to rant? Go rant on your GP paper or on your blog that nobody reads. Better still, shout into your cellphone and record a new greeting voice message for yourself so you can hear it on repeat and fall in love with your own voice (of unreasoning). Or maybe vent it out in writing - try writing a letter and mail it to yourself for your own amusement or to feed your astute ability of self-gratification at the expense of intellect, or share it with friends to show them how opinionated (and thick-headed) you are.

But don't smear my thread, which for all intents and purposes was meant to be about ALIENS FROM OUTER SPACE, with your defamatory, servile, bigot remarks. What you have done here is similar to doing something like this:

Has anyone read into detail some of the UK sightings though?

There's one incident where two airforce pilots actually locked onto the rapid moving UFO with their plane's tracking devices before it sped out of sight and out of radar.

Do you guys think it's really a UFO or some prototype ship or something?

If the aliens did say that, then I'd suppose that they are definitely not from a 'highly advanced civilisation' as you said. More like a couple of 17 year old pimply teen alien morons who happened to hijack their parents' spacecraft to go for a joyride. Or they are probably space blobs with as many brain cells as an earthworm.

Cos I can't see the possibility of them just pointing out Muslim terrorists (as you have insinuated) in their 'observation' and take the farking terrorists as an accurate representation of the whole human species and dismissing us as 'really really immature'.

With the argument about speed / time and relativity... lets put it this way.
If we are able to get out of the 4th Dimension, then Distance and Speed shall not be a consideration factor for travelling many many light years.

A lot of media had indeed captured unexplained video and pictures about UFOs. However not to cause mass hysteria, gov has always covered up with many excuses like weather balloons, asteroids and space junk etc....

Remember recent years? Sightings of a Crescent shaped burning object which flew over woodlands and to JB or something...It was even reported in the channel 8 news...then a Professor from NTU spoke about space Junk....I was laughing. Space Junk and Asteroids dont travel so slowly....

I've always thought that these aliens can indeed travel in between dimensions and pop in and out of wormholes.
