Amp recommendations.

I am seeking to acquire an amplifier that is

1.) 30-50 watts
2.) around 200-300 bucks
3.) preferably without built-in effects.
4.) doesn't matter if it's 1st or 2nd hand.

Any good recommendations?
Thank you in advance.

the behgringer ( beghringer??? ) 30 watt amp is pretty decent. its a tech 21 trademark series rip off... but for the price... its a good ripoff... check it out at luther.

The Kustom 30RC is an excellent amp to run efx thru, its cleans are very warm, dynamic and can get really fat. It does not have sparkling cleans though, which isn't an issue to some like me. Has efx loop, good reverb, okay but very warm chorus.

The only gripe? Its LOUD. :) The efx sometimes have little irritating quirks, like you can't turn off the reverb... nothing you can't fix with a little bit of dough. :)

On its own, it goes to hard rock like Mr Big... thats the most. Can do AC/DC rhythm.

There's a cube 30 on luther's classified ads now going for $250, you might want to check it out. Do you want a 12" or 10" speaker?

The Cube 30 sounds good, I would prefer 12, but then I am not too concerned if it's 10 either. Does anyone know how much a brand new Cube goes for?
What do you guys think of the Cube 30?

Shred,
How much is that Kustom 30RC? And where do I get it from?

Really? Thanks xspace.

One thing about the cube30 is that I am paying for the built-in effects, of which I don't use.

Phil, don't mind me hijacking your thread for a moment...

Just wanna ask which type of amp can amplify your guitar when on clean mode. As in, not just any clean but really clean...the type of sound like your not playing with an amp.

Normal Hifi amp. Or better yet, flat response active monitors.

Guitar amps are made to accentuate certain frequencies. You can plug your guitar into your hifi and try, the sound will seem kinda weak. I practiced through my hifi when I first got my guitar.

i bought the kustom 30RC second hand for about 280 i think off luther. got it on the recommendation of shredcow since his a fellow sansamp user heh.

nice warm cleans goes great with effect pedals like he mentioned, but the od channel is nothing to write about. mines really fuzzy and i hardly use it. most of the time i just use my gt2 through its clean channel. come with an effects loop too, i have yet to see a lower wattage amp with effects loop yets.

You mean the MG ministacks of which Wydle claims to practise on? Cool.
Anyway, thanks for all the responses.

Man! :) Try using the gain... a little less.. like 2 oclock gain, on the brit setting... set the eq to something like bass 12 oclock, mids 1, treble 1. Its very very sweet. :)

You mean you use the exact same amp too? Uhmm I think Matt sorta mentioned. Well, anyway.
