that's why i didn't suggest that it should be free from compensation but rather they should be given options. (which at this point, perhaps they were so let's not dwell in this till the horses speak.)

sorry if i wasn't clear and cause misinterpretation. but what i wrote earlier is a targeted question to bin4christ asking him more details on how bad is the damage. coz from what he already describe it seems the damage is really not too bad since it's just cosmetics.
and i am not saying that he should get away free, but like what turtlemuscle mention, there should be options.

i think people toking here got 2 corner.
1 corner say the shop still need to do business, guitar make spoil still cost money. the other corner say knock abit only, no need to pay what...
but i looking the situation a bit more, still don't make sense why the ah boy still kanna pay whole thing??? some more he no money to pay have to borrow... still cannot let parent know. (maybe let parent know better, they may think shop trying to pull fast one...)
the guitar make a bit colour come out still can sell what... discount lah. i am sure still make money one. then also ask the ah boy pay like $100 lor... sounds more fair like that.

Are you aware that there are people in this world that have a severe medical condition which causes them to be that way? My mother for instance is one of those people. She is a truck driver that has bad knees and a bad backfrom driving the truck but you probably do not care about that case either. Oh well I am not one of those people I am 6'4" 245lbs and I exercise every day. I would love to see you say something like to my mother in front of me. Probably never happen though you are probably just an internet tough guy. I doubt very seriously you would say that to someones face. Just my thought.
