A S.O.F.T effect pedal. Would you guys be interested?

Is there anywher i can find OCD or Mighty Red Dist schematics? That would be great but i doubt anyone would wanna release a schematic for such an expensvie pedal..

This is a good idea in my books... but look at the rigs of the guys here... many don't use the fuzz face. So if you are looking for an effect that is more popular, the fuzz face might not be it.

Alternatively. You can please both crowds by maybe doing a dual circuit - fuzz face and trotsky. Let the user the options of swapping all transistors and the ability to control the manner of stacking. With the trotsky pushing the Fuzz Face, if its silicon, you get a mean, dirty overdrive, if its germ, you get saturated sustain for days. So you got classic fuzz face, clean-ish dirty, and all the distortion/fuzz you need when stacking + tweakability.

Look up the NOC3 Fuzz for what amounts to a fuzz face that has all the tweakability without sacrificing on the tone.

I dig this idea, though I'm not too keen on the dual footswitches. Maybe the trotsky circuit could act like a 'pregain' stage for the ff, with the amount of gain controllable via pot? The downside of this is that the gain cannot be bypassed totally though.

Probably gonna use SI trannys. The gain does not vary as much as GE ones, iirc

You can use toggle switches... or those knobs that click off @ 0. That can turn off the trotsky circuit.

Yah, trotsky running into a FF could be cool. Sounds like... certain boutique builds.

I can't really recall if running it the other way was cool too but thats for you to try out. ;)

actually, i wouldnt mind just a clean boost. like the chili picoso or something. a small, one knob one footswitch pedal. no frills, just volume:) essential.

true bypass pedal!!

confirm lowest cost among all other pedal types!

we could always use it as a source of 'mojo' :D:D:D

A wah pedal would be great! Hey guys, how about SOFT package? Where the guitar/bass(strats preferably with SOFT inlay), amp, strap, tuner, cable and pedal all hav SOFT logos...haha

HuhHh?

True bypass aint a pedal type, just a feature of pedals..
A pedal can be true bypass or buffered bypass..

well it would just be a input=output pedal, with some 'secret sauce' inside
of cos we cant reveal what it is right? just cover the whole thing in goop!

heh, the pedal which darf has in mind, has been done in japan. Its called "spice", from honda sound works effect. Within it has no electronic components except inout/output jack and a piece of NOS cloth wire from old era.. and best, they dont even bother to goop anything, even thou theres nothing to hide in first place. It is said to improved the fricking tone having it in the chain...

hehe, anyway, for the soft pedal, i suggest each and every of it are serialised with #001. So that every piece is equal and it can either

1) give the illusion for guitarer who has it that their piece a special one

or

2) fool the guitarer thinking they are really special, even thou each and every one also got #001

That sounds like THE ROCK!!!!

Find "The Rock" in action here....

hur hur hur.... The Rock was born on one of the dodgiest local singapore forum... A collaboration between a ultra dodgy pedal builder and a equally dodgy effects peddler...

Only 10 pieces were made and all at #0001!

booster would be good.
although i prefer 2 footswitches , 1 footswitch for clean boost, another for dirt.
