And the last msg on that first page is a good response to another thread in this forum why there typically isn't a 3 band EQ for small amps.

yeah I agree with the poster. In a two tube amp, one power tube and one 12AX7 preamp tube.

So the amp only has like 2 gain stages the most from the pre. Having an eq in the middle will just lower the gain, and also potentially how loud its gona be

Well, it is a good thing this one has a 3 band EQ. It looks just right for me barring the tone. Doesn't have reverb though...or at least I can't see it. The gain knob isn't very prominent as well.

Think there's no gain knob also. It really seems like a VJ with a 3 band EQ and a different look.

I also find the pentode/triode thing a little daft. From my limited experience with a Carvin 15Watter, switching down the wattage this way is really not going to make it much quieter. And on top of that... that time I tried, it seemed that the lower wattage sound lost tone in the process.
