8th Soft's Drum Xchange -20th October 2007

Thank you all for your kind words and understanding. Yes the committee had spoken to me that we share the cost istead of me having to come-up with the S$50 every month to book the Place......we see how lah (right now luckily I'm still having my job - neber kenna sack as yet Hahaha !)..

But the Money (Contribution/Sponsored Money - for buying a 2nd Drum Kit which I have now "STICKY IT" - shall remain now - Keep the Contribution pouring in - but, it's not for paying for the Money Meetup Venue. Alfie is correct - We don't see our Contribution Physically if we do that.

This is my Proposal - I wonder if you all would agree.

Let's leave the Contribution List there - If we do not get a Sponsorship for another Drum-Kit by Next year January - Let's use the Money and buy a Value-For-Money-Reasonable Kit...so that we have 2-Kits for Soft's Drum Xchange Singapore......We will be needing this (Trust me) when it comes to our 1st-Year Anniversary somewhere in March 2008.

Now - assuming someone/some company is kind enough to Sponsor us a Kit. Then what are we to do with the Money?....My Proposal here is this:- Leave the money there

(1) We can use it to buy HardWares - because we only have 2 Cymbal Stands for each Kit (not enough lah) - as we have usually more Cymbals.

(2) Drumming Accessories - eg. Cowbells, Left-Foot Clave Pedals, Double Pedals, Drum Batter/Reso (also need to change what)...

So - YES...Soft's Drum Xchange Singapore is self-funded in many ways - Luckily we have Soft (James), Mapex (Terry) and those kind soul at Ulu Pandan Orchestra Group, The Soft Drum Xchange Singapore Commitee & It's Members, and the many other people/drummers contributing to DXS somehow or rather (that is all of you) helping us in many ways - to keep Drum Xchange Singapore going.

We want and we need Sponsorship even more-so now and also in the future for sure as DXS grows to sustain it's Existence.

Let's us all keep it going....Remembering that DXS is here to stay.

Thank You All !

Eric

Ok fellow drumemrs, now we all know who has financially contribute to the meetup. So not only we need to thank RD directly or indirectly, but for those who are financially stable enough, I suggest to somewhat try to fork up and support RD for this.

But if RD insist on solely financially support the meetup, hence we need to use the timeslot at Ulu Pandan CC as wisely as possible.

Sometimes I felt paiseh sia, that RD, and some other comittee member have been working hard to keep this meetup alive.

So heres a Thank You to the commitee members for keeping the drum meetups alive.

Smiledrumz: Oi!! you cannot go for this drum meet up la?? Wakakaka, Don't be too impulsive and sneak out of the camp, just to go for this meet up ha!! Later there's gonna be another island wide man hunt for you. Pulau Tekong is a nice resort la brudder, just chill, you can become the timer and counter for the marching nad stuff!! Also send us a pix of you getting bald. wa ka ka ka. PM me ur home address. I'll send over the piezo to you (for the acoustic to electronic drums conversion)

Cheers
Az

If we had shared the cost of rental in the beginning, RD by now had bought some drum gears for himself... RD don't be a Rambo leh... kekekeke

Smiledrumz... can offer yourself to play some rudiments on snare drum to keep time for the platoon during drill practices... hehehe

Thank you Bro DH - OK then let's share cost - It's my Pleasure and thank you all.

But seriously - I wanted to have a 50/50% share at Ulu Pandan Symphony Orchestra Room - and am still waiting for their reply - If this goes through - We can have a few nite a weeks together - doing/drumming anything .....Also I will then Invite the Bassists/ Guitarists to Ulu Pandan - and we can Jam.mmmmmmmmmm.....

But this club house will only belongs to Ulu Pandan Symphony Orchestra & Soft's Drum Xchange Singapore (just these 2 Special Interest Group) that's what they told me - if agreeable by them.

u know our xchange pattern orie la... no one is holding back, and everybody shares everything, so the more skill is the betterment for all brothas and sistas... cheers!!!

jesperz,... for starters you can bring yourself there...
if you feel like you haf something to share, you can bring your sticks.. if not the rest of us sure got sticks one....
oh yeah, send my regards to dhalif and kelvin
maybe one day you all can jam dreamtehater stuffs there huh.. hee hee

Hey no problem DT...

Dream Theater is just fun to play and i like to count those weird time signatures. But sometimes play too much also very bored and learning those songs is frustrating. U gotta repeat that particular part over and over as u can't really catch what they were playing.

Sure, next time can jam dream theater but erm....

ANY FUSION JAZZ DRUMMERS? Those into Steve smith/Dennis chambers/dave weckl/Akira jimbo etc....?

I seriously hoping for those man!

if 20th, i wont be able to make it.. this is because i have been cancelling all my drum classes on saturdays once a month to help out at exchange.

i've talked to each and every one of them and they are understanding, even then its not fair to my students if i postpone classes twice in 4 weeks (= one month)

but if majority can make it pls go ahead. dont hold back because of one person.

cheers!!!

Hmm I posted something in response to jesperz asking about fusion drummers and that post disappeared?
