am really glad, overjoyed and honoured to go thru to the venue final, it really was an honour to share the stage with all the competitors. Everyone was really good guess the judge had a real tough time to decide. Let's rock again this Friday. To all my fellow rockers it didn't matter what u play and what u take part in most important is to have fun that's what music is all about.

stated in the terms and condition of the competition, each band should required to play 3 originals songs. But somehow, some bands play mostly covers and got to be the 1st band to qualify to the finals??? They should be disqualified..
To qualify to be next round, judges choose band that have more supporters than other bands.
They dont look for tite,originiality and creative music,. Just supporters.
Might as well called the mathematician rather than judges to count the total no.of supporters.
Wandering if the winner band of the WORLD BOTB competition could bring their supporters along to Hong Kong to support them?
tats why i could see lots of talented bands going underground and avoid competing maybe bcoz of politics and favourism btw bands and judges.

guys its all about having fun and rocking out. last year my band was a vocalist and a guitarist down. instead of 5, 3 brothers from PressPlay went up and played our hearts out, had so much fun we were overjoyed. we didnt make it, made complete clowns outta ourselves onstage at times, and just plain enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. we've played really crazy gigs, so many supporters and people that there's hardly any place to move, but that was one of our most memorable gigs. 3 of us who went up that day still talk about it and laugh and tell the other 2 about how fun it was.
yeah its a competition, but in the end being in a band is all about enjoying what you do and doing it to your hearts content. if you win a round, hey gr8 on ya. if you lose, hold your heads up high for the fact that you gave it your all, rocked out and in the end played till you brain felt numb. its when you feel really tired, but happy and so content, you know you did yourself a favour.
2 cents worth. i bet you guys know about all this. just felt like typing it out
oh by the way, PressPlay is through to the Semis, up against Es War Einmal & Self Made. its gonna be a pleasure playing with these bands man, we're gonna enjoy listening to them, and enjoy playing! dang, 14 September is gonna rock!

To me music is universal..not only metal song is good..other kind is good too..wake up lah...tot everyone is old enuf here..u guys are acting like kids who r only into 1 kind and music and not others..hmm...
at least they haf stage presence and thier music can be appriciated by everyone..dats the most important anyway..

c_cilik...with all due respect...shine was damn tight and they were awesome...but it just does not impress me when a band representing singapore in a world band competition playing jamaican music. There is no identity. We are not biased. Metal is Universal while reggae music started with the jamaicans...and it remains a cultural heritage for the jamaican society. Not trying to say i hate reggae...i love the music...its very soothing and relaxing, but it just dont cut it for a world band competition u know? if its singapore battle of the bands its ok. But hell, they made it through and congrats to them for being able to impress the judges. and damn we had fun with the alalalong alalalong long leng long long long! Cheers to all the bands in the semis...main point is to have fun! artyman:just so you guys know, the venue final for gashaus there is a new rule that I have been informed of - its quite simple: each band MUST announce before each song whether it is an original or a cover. No point difference, but it might sway some votes.
Also, I'm (on behalf of Gashaus) going to officially invite James, SOFT king to be the judge for this round too.
