I haven't read the newspapers myself for the whole story because I'm not in Singapore, but from what you posted, fgl, it seemed like the man was disturbed and agitated. So he probably wasn't in his right mind. I would hardly call that intention, or stupidity for that matter.

Why? Because you can't think of one? Haha, kidding. But no, I'm not launching into an argument or pitting myself against you guys. I'm just saying we shouldn't jump to conclusions that quickly. No one can completely understand another person, and just because the man's dead doesn't mean we should heap all sorts of accusations at him.
 
well i feel sorry for the guy...at least now he's dead...not feeling any pain....
sure beat the alternative of surviving the attack....life would be hell after that

True ... i Pity the dude and all dat but I think if he tried the sleeping pills OD method, he wud have been in a much less world of hurt as compared to being eaten by Tigers .
 
Being mauled to death by 3 tigers is the last thing on my mind if I ever wanna suicide, reasons being -

1. It is a slow and painful death.
2. I wanna perserve my beautiful face even after death.
3. Dude, people are watching me get torn apart. That is plain SICK!!

Yes, I know you didn't mention stupidity. But you did say "I think it was intentional" before. I only added "stupidity" in my reply because I saw Benn had said it in the latest post before I posted my reply.

unless he likes pain lah then he would have been better off with the crocodile exhibition.

After the first swipe - he probably realised that it was gonna be a PAINFUL way to die. I mean RIP the poor dude but no normal human being would wanna do such a thing..

what it means: I think he (in his mentally unstable state of mind) intentionally did try to kill himself. Some semblence of reality would have hit him after the first swipe because he screamed for help, called out for his god and also bellowed " God is great" before the end.

i know you feel for him dude, we do too. Sad fact is he did what he did..

I don't think you read my post properly. What I'm trying to say is:

Not in right mind/disturbed/agitated/mentally unstable does not equal to intention. To have intention, you have to be fully aware of what you're doing.

From what you copied and pasted in your first post, it was clear he was not in his right mind/disturbed/agitated/mentally unstable (I think we agree on that), and so, he couldn't have intentionally killed himself.

And dude, chill. Haha. I'm not pointing the finger at anyone in particular, I just don't think we should jump to conclusions and blame the man for jumping in the enclosure. :)

So long as we all understand I have not criticized the man for anything other than being mentally unstable.
