I wonder many times why I still visit soft. I'm considered the older age group compared to the majority of the forummers here. I read only 1-5% of all the posts (most of them don't interest me). I'm terribly busy with my work - there's more thing I can do then just logging onto SOFT.
So why am I still visiting SOFT?
1. Occassionally, I still get very good advice from the experts here when I get stuck with something. Actually, most of the experts here are pretty quiet until a worthy question is posted - then you get a slew of answers.
2. I find helping younger musicians rewarding. Not that I have all the answers, but what I have I'm happy to share. A simple post of "thanks!" or "problem solved!" is rewarding enough. I enjoy problem solving, particulalrly if the problem is difficult to solve. The process of helping the person solve the problem invariably helps me learn more.
3. The age gap thingy - I find relating to the younger generation helps me when my own 2 sons grow to be that age. I'm trying to keep up with the younger generation so I understand the lingos and culture of what's going on with that generation - for the sake of my sons!
4. I do get some comic relief after a day of hard work - particularly from threads that make no sense.
A question for those who are more knowleageble, who don't post often but are still logging on frequently to SOFT (yes, I see your names logged in!!!). Why are you still visiting SOFT?
(purpose of this post is for more positive contribution to improve SOFT).
