okay.. i'm sort of at a toss up between the:

1. Jim Dunlop Stereo Pan
2. Line 6 Tap Trem

i think i can get both for the same price, so my budget is settled. just wondering if anyone's played these two pedals before and can gimme a heads up about some of the pros and cons..

i currently like the tap trem cuz you can tap trem, plus its got a multitude of different tremolo settings which is nice and versatile. but it's as heavy as a brick and i already have an echo park.

the jim dunlop is all analog goodness and my friend uses it, i like the sound but i'm worried that its just a one trick pony (i like to keep my options open), also, i don't have two amplifiers, so bouncing a stereo signal's kinda redundant for me.. and the pedal is huge (space eater on my board)

mu current efx are:
epiphone LP -> tuner -> feedback loop -> mxr dynacomp -> keeley ts-9 -> proco vintage rat -> line 6 echopark -> arion chorus -> boss dd-5 -> boss phaser -> mi audio neo fuzz

dahmn you!! wahaha, no worries.. thanks. i've tried that before too, it's nice. i might consider getting it if it beats the prcie tag of the tap trem in the misse bargin bin.

ACtually. I think if u buy the empress. you wont have the cash for a new trem pedal! but the emperss is quite a ncie tremolo pedal too.

Dude. consider the BYOC trem la.

yeah, consider the byoc trem. IMO, I don't think you should spend over 200 for pedals other than OD/dist and wah.

soul, u have the empress?

Nope I don't have the Empress but I tried it for a really long time at Misse's place. Not to be confused with the "Empress Chorus" offered by Redwitch.

Best trem I have ever tried. All IMHO of course...

Thank goodness he didn't have stock or else I would have bought it, brought it home and discovered that I have no used for a trem even though it sounds that friggin good!

For what it sells for and what it can do I think it's really worth it.

hahahahaha... pathein you is the BATU!

ok litford if you can only choose between the 2 pedals,

i'd go for the Line6. Versatile and it sounds great. Tap tempo tremolo is great too.

only one thing, you'd need a separate power supply.

Line6 for life. For life for life.
Line6 for life. For life for life.
Line6 for life. For life for life.
mai hum mai hum.. mai hum.... talking cock mai hum....

haha, thanks for all the help guys, i do feel the love, or the swirly goodness of a new tremolo.

i was talking about the TS-1, so thanks Phil for putting the TVP-1 in as well, i didnt even know sucha thing existed.. hehe

and checkin' out the rest of the gear out there like the moollon the BYOC..

i know Ark's tremolo is sorta based on the Pulsar which are both nice things to have.. 'specially with the switch to a harsher square wave tremolo.. it's a good thing to have if i wanna be more experimental.. the problem is, i haven't fully decided on a style of music i wanna concentrate on yet, so don't shoot me guys!

reading the Harmony Central reviews makes me wanna choose the JD over the Line 6, but the positive reviews all come from people who play relatively standard with regards to music. the way i read the reviews on the Line-6, is that its a tone sucker and there's background hiss (without seperate power - and my stripboard is maxed out..)

i'm sort of gearing toward a shoegaze, ambient noise experimentation but wanna do a bit of Ryan Adams like country style.. and i have no idea whether the apparent tone deficiencies in the tap trem will bother me that much..

all in all, the BYOC is an interesting project to get started on and for a considerably cheaper option, i might cock it up and find some wonderful mutant baby to live with..! haven't heard the Moollon, does anyone in singapore stock it? but it does look pretty and space saving..

and the pulsar's $5 cheaper than the bargin bin Line 6 at MrMisse!

as of right now, im reaching more for the JD, for the bargin it is and apparent quality over the Line6, but i'll bring my gear around to try both..

thanks for the help guys! really appreciate it -)

p/s Edder, with you being a modder, do you really think that the negative reviews with regards to the Tap Trem sucking tone, or having a sort of hiss non-existant when using a seperate power supply? i've heard that you build power supplies as well.. if i can get a sorta powerbrick on my existing stripboard, i can free up one of my 1-spot daisys for another point for the tap trem.. (and then use that 1 spot for my bass effects..)

cuz right now i have two 1 spot daisys, one line6 for my echopark, and one boss for my dd5, and i don't have space for a larger stripboard..

if you still build power supplies, can you PM me? thanks!

if your options are open...

then get the EH stereo pulsar and get on with your shoegazing.

I have a soft spot for shoegazers. Let me know when your new/old band is coming up with any nu stuff.
