Well so, the story goes like this. I saw a fellow softie, I shall not name, happen to have a sale on boutique pedals and I was quite interested in the Barber Tone Press that he had for sale. The sale went well, didn't really get it for a really good price, but hey! always trust softies. In excellent physical condition, I plugged the Tone Press in to try. That's weird... it's not compressing anything or sustaining anything, it's just giving me a distorted sound. I ask the softie, hey did you do anything to it? "no" he says. So I brought it to a tech, TYMC. They troubleshooted directly through barber, but to no avail. I asked whether i could send it to Barber directly, they told me that he won't accept it, he only offers a one to one exchange if the pedal is under warranty. I go back and ask the softie, hey there is really something funky with the pedal, can you take it back because I can't do anything to it, it's just a very weak and expensive overdrive. He says "no. I don't need one. Can you sell it by yourself? thanks"
This really taught me a lesson in ever buying second handed goods.. never judge a book by it's cover. Thanks to TYMC to doing whatever they can anyway. Really nice place. To the mother loving son of a father who sold me this expensive paper weight, I hope you don't con anyone else. I'm freakin pissed now because I can't do anything with the pedal and there's nobody who can repair it. Thank you for making the world a better place.
