I just picked up a really vintage Yamaha but beat up superstrat copy - 24 jumbo frets, HSH pups, FR bridge etc... probably its some 80s model..

Im refurbishing it as the body (currently in black) is in a really bad state and I'm trying to think what would be the best choice of colour to refinish it in?

Appreciate your suggestions ... I'll kick it off...

1. fgl - clear laquer wood finish
2. fgl - chrome silver (like the Satriani axe)

SWIRL!!! Swirl is sexy!!!

or u can CHROME the whole thing like satriani's chromeboy.

neon green is good also!

wayne - swirl what colour? hardware is currently black.

Razorsh - yes..I did stae that Im considering the satriani chrome - I've done before for other ppl and quite like it though it may be a bit "flashy" ...

BTW it also has a black pickguard which I intend to do up in mirror material ....

Neon green - gee I donno - never been a fan of green ...

abalone pkgrd more ex but wud be nice match for woodfinish. Black & silver swirl - wahh sounds like CMI ...

U all got pix, post la...

get those really crazy paint jobs...

Like clapton's super old SG or his crossroads that rainbowish thing...
or the mayer like flowery type...

Or pinkish finish wif 3ply bwb pickguard with goldhardware!! n white knobs...

If the grain is nice, I'd go with a nice sexy dark stain. Dark cherry or walnut. Yummy.

Otherwise, I'd go for red or blue sparkle - a tribute to the mosrite surf guitars.

throw the guitar on the expressway.preferably at PIE during peak hours.later got mixture of tyre and dirt.but apple red is cool.make sure you add picture okay fgl.
