We should have a SOFT.com Jam fest

teraslasch, nothing wrong with Cheez's quote what...

Keyboard can be replaced by other instruments;
All other instruments also can be replaced by keyboard...

Ops... Off thread liao  ... Sorry...

Softjam? here's a tot...why not get players from diffirent bands / acts coming up to perform 1-2 songs but have a main backing band playing - like some of the tribute shows you see e.g. Dylan Aniversary concert etc etc...The main back up band has gotta be kicking doe...

In fact members of backing band could also interswop with other interested players...know what I mean? Or those who wanna just do accoustic then just go unplugged....

Not much set up problems then and most importantly many dif acts can actually meet and interact with each other...all across the genres....

my 2 cents worth of tots in a very expensive world...

hey sounds interesting! i think we should mix players and bands together to make it truly a soft jam to remember...

something like a jamfest....oh wait...isnt it what this thread is all about

my guitar and i are ready for action if this were to be possible

yep, young & old, all styles all genres....lets make it the 1st of the soft jams to really remember... bro James..maybe U cud film/record the event? Part of the follow up sales to go to worthy organizations and causes?

Dats what music should be really all about...1 for all and all for 1 dont cha think? 8)

1 drummer
1 bassist
1 percussionist
2 guitarist
1 horn section
TWO KEYBOARDISTS...

1 music director to arrange all the songs ... yeah....

Why are you guys talking cok here?? Trying to create something outta nuthing. There is already something of a similar nature already taking place. Why not supporting or intergrating into that??

I am talking about Heartrock's Y'EAST @ MARINE COVE gigs!!!

Since the beginning of this year (including 1trial from dec 05), we have already gone through 7 consecative gigs already, about once every 2 weeks. The frequency is increasing to 3 gigs per month from this month.

We are talking about 24-33 gigs for this whole year. Free for bands to perform, free for anyone to see. All gigs on Saturdays evening. Good time, good venue and crowd traffic, free for all, what else you want??

I say, if you got ideas, go and approach Mr heartrock. And most importantly, must physically in person support too, not just talk talk.

Ok man i will approach him since im the one that thought about it.

Mikemann.... I think Gianzball had good intentions in mind when he first brought this up and via the banter in this thread, some good ideas do actually crop up during .... forum brainstorming?

If there really are slots available in the Marina Cove series then sure, why not, have the Softjam held there?

One thing doe Sat night allota "working" muso softies mite be BZ ....

I do advocate a mixed line up backing band and various other performers for an "across the board" variety program.

Wat say U? 8)

Yeah I agree. Might turn out like the Sembawang festival. I was actually talking smaller scale, then Mikemann brought up a valid point that Anthony was already doing Marine Cove regularly, but not getting enough support

In retrospective - things are better if we just concentrated on our own 'portfolios'.
