Tweaking your amp and pedals.

I've been trying out all possible "nice" tones and sound i can get from what i have, or rather, what i can afford. still no matter what appeals to my ears, all kana rejected by my band members. =/ really vexxed man.


how abt u guys man? how long did u guys take to acquire your "tone"? =/ for me, 2 years.. and still counting. -sobs-

mine got rejected too even though i absolutely loved mine, but not there yet. will continue to please my band.

what would the rest of your band - presumably non-guitarists - know about guitar tone???

ah ya... now i remember... you're playing funk rock...

maybe go for a thinner, more unique tone? that might seem counterintuitive since you're using an LP, but then again it's hard to say... it might just work...

I'm kind of happy with my current setup... The Quest for me, will take a break for a while!

Anyway, maybe this would help.

Remember that you are in a band.

Really... If I am in a band... I wouldn't care how good my guitar sounds to ME if its not going to FIT into the band. Its a really different thing, having a bedroom kind of tone thats just sweet to your ears... but in the end... on stage, you tone becomes too bassy, effecting the bass player... or it becomes too trebly, always cutting thru. Or its just too thick, drowning the vocals. So yeah... maybe look in to that area.
