Well, everything taken in context, allow me to explain to both Crawldaddy and you.

So from then on, I said:

Because you said, "people tend to talk so much but what they(not everyone) say doesn't hold much substance."

And your comment, which I quoted, while noteworthy, will not help change SOFT in any way. Its just another comment.

So I hope I have "cleared up" whatever misunderstanding there is.


Oh, and do note, I never approached you in a way that was condescending? I never went, "Oh you are 'one of those blasting his mouth or rather shooting others without reading'". Neither did I assume you were 'probable one of those who post stupid threads on soft'.

Haha guys lets just relax and let the debate clear. We are all fellow Softies after all.

I think Sandywinds, Crawldaddy and Shredcow all have valid points in their arguments. However, at the end of the day SOFT after all is a forum, and a forum of views and arguments. its human nature to divert from topic and i think sandywinds you should know that. In fact, I've been to other music forums(not SG-based) and the people not only divert from topic, but they even start blasting each other with obstrusive profanities!! I was reading this Steve Vai vs. Eddie Van Halen thread and while it was funny at first, it disgusted me because no real argument was presented, it was just more of a mud-sliinging match. So you have to at least give SOFT credit that well, at least you won't really find ppl like that posting here, although im with you that we can improve on this forum as a whole.

I don't think you can really stop people form posting after all. People are entitiled to free speech and to say what they like, provided its not objectionable content. I was also guilty of what you mentioned in one particular thread although i was just expressing my opinion and i got shot by this SOFTIE Ripper. (which ironically brings it back to what Shred mentioned, shooting himself in the foot). As Softies, we can only do our best at what we do, and at the end of the day, we are all human after all.

Yeah and maybe its about time we went back to the topic, which is "Trading Licks". I know it sounds lame that im saying this but somebody's gotta do it, even at the expense of being shot at(no not implying im anti-hero of sorts).

i'm just trying to say that there are alot of stupid threads coming up in large numbers, i mean, come on man, just take a look. the kopitiam, yes i know is meant for anything under the sun, but it says anything realated to music, e.g. IMF action, wenger vs fergie, which hell you belong to and inhumane baby seal hunt, are these realated to music?

Also i didn't say that we should all keep silent, once again, just take a look at my first reply. READ AND UNDERSTAND, then get back.

Oh, okay... thats what you meant. We (as in some of the older SOFTies and myself) have fought about it before. Even James was involved. At the end of the day, it is still a forum, and the forum is handled by James. James sees it fit to do so in this way, and as a member of the forum, I decided to subscribe to Jame's way of handling it. I still get to talk about gear. I still get advice on playing guitar.

While I dislike the "alternate" topics going on, it doesn't hinder my musical requests within SOFT.

But I urge you to make a difference. Really. Please do so. Where others have failed, I sincerely hope you succeed.

All your clauses of 'not saying that i'm one.' etc etc... Make me doubt your intentions other than to excite an arguement here and making people read between your lines.
