Top 5 modern rock bands

LadyInTears: X japan is from 80s right?

the 80's X Japan was known as X, which was more of power metal, ballads, hard rock, with different and diverse musical styles, but over the years, with changes in the lineup and hide's death, and a less competent bassist, and as they got more popular, their musical direction of course became mainstream, more pop rock and thus, the later albums have more of a modern rock. eg, songs like rusty nail and I.V. have lost the indie feel, nevertheless, their compositions still are fantastic, and they became the first asian artist to reach itune charts haha

1. Deftones
2. Linkin Park
3. Alter Bridge
4. Seether
5. Puddle of Mudd

There are a few others but when it comes to modern rock, most of them would be either post-grunge or nu-metal for me...

Uhm, mine would be:

Anberlin
Avenged Sevenfold
Escape The Fate
Muse
Breaking Benjamin

(I don't really think ETF is considered rock, but I'm currently addicted to it! )

I think The Darkness were pretty damn good. Too bad they disbanded! :???:
Muse and Foo Fighters FTW! And er... U2 and... MR. BIG!!! (thou not very modern hee)

And Velvet Revolver too... They still have that old school sound though...
