Greatest Metal Tone ever = Dimebag Darrell.

Agreed to a certain extent. Dimebag's tone was soo unique that you could instantly tell if a Pantera song plays. It was soo raw....maybe a bit too raw for my liking.

I'd like to go with Lamb of God for metal tones. Sweet tone id give kudos to Satriani and SRV

Fuzz

No idea how Matt makes the Fuzz Factory sound so tasty.. It sounded hell weak when I tried it at Blackwood.. Got crank up somemore..

I guess it's a combi of his Mansons and his rig. That's why Matt's a genius.

Like you, but in the bass aspect, I also still can't understand how Chris Wolstenholme get his nice and fat bass fuzz effects through the Woolly Mammoth. Gotta check up on their boards I guess. Haha.

YEA ANOTHER MUSE FAN.

Andy Timmons

You should check out the whole Ibanez 90th Anniversary concert where this video comes from. Andy Timmons does alot of great stuff, along with Paul Gilbert and Steve Vai. It's a great showcase of the Ibanez stars.

They all have crazy sounding tones, all in their own special flavour.

But this song from the concert is hilarious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIHhY4-7l-U&feature=related

IBANEZ AND TAMA DRUMS ARE THE COOLEST.

And yes poor Steve Vai broke a string on the first note.

they're playing those things through gigantic amps and stacks and backline. it's not the same.

Many, or most of the pros have great tone.

But at the top of my head,

SRV
Timmons
E. Johnson
Hendrix
Gilmour
BB King
Neil Young
