hello fellows.

what kind of pickup should i get to have his tone?

it seen his tone got a great mid boast.

and to install a kill switch.

who could do that locally?

i don't hve his tone, but i made my own kill switch for mi yamaha yg guitar, if you want to do that to your guitar too, firstly, it'd best be a pickguard equipped guitar, eg. a strat

hey man do you play any ratm

Installing a kill switch is pretty simple... but you need the space..

The switch is usually the Gibson LP style 3 way toggle... those can move very fast. This switch is not too long but its bulky so yeah... just bring it anywhere, i'm sure its a simple job. :)

Lol just use a lespaul. I loveeee morello man.

but anyway. i read reviews about his pickups.. all stock if im not wrong. and some of his guitars, he got it from some pawn shops. dunno if i spell that correctly

... Wah lao dont learn dhalif lah.

its jeeYON. not G. Sounds horrible with G man. zz

Haha aiya i like the way he play his effects. I mean, who doesnt? Lol

kill switch? u mean the stuttering, on-off sound he got? if that is the one, here's how he does it in ratm.

he uses a guitar with 2 volume control, one for each pick-up. u turn the volume on one of the pickups all the way to zero/off. the other one u leave all the way up/on. when u want to get the effect, use the 3-way switch and quickly switch between the 2 pick-ups. that switching gives u that stuttering effect as u are constantly switching between the "on" and "off" p/ups. u get it?

some people actually put an on-off switch on the guitar, but that needs mods. of course if ur guitar has got 1 volume only, then that might be the best way...

its good if ur "switch playing" is in-rhythm/in-synch with the beat of the song. it sounds better.

and for his tone, i guess u need to play around with the eq on ur amp and ur tone knob on ur guitar to "get/approximate" the sound. try using ur ears and listen closely to his tone.

You guys know abt this other way to do a kill switch? Using a pressure switch? Like an on/off button for your lights kind of thing... Victor Smolski of the band Rage uses it.... pretty nice mod if you ask me...

hmmmmmm... i was watching the Buckethead video posted here and saw him does a switching by "pressing" instead of "toggling". and he got a "mild stuttering" effect. that's the one i guess?

Hmm i got a way. and thats a method i do to "substitude" the kill switch thing.

if ure using lespaul that is. neck pickup volume 0. bridge 10(or anything u like).

i think works well. then play ard with ur toggle switch. thats wat i do though.

Yeah thats the one... been looking around for such a switch... prob from some industrial switch manufacturer... hmmm... but interesting way to do a kill switch and you can be very fast with it. Plus, theres no chance of leaving the switch in the wrong position.

i guess u have to try Sim Lim Towers. there are a lot of electronics parts store there. i think u can get the one u need. its been a place for all the electronic students to get parts for their school projects.

tom uses a SD hotrail in his strat bridge, there's a review about it in the gear review section. He oso occassionally uses a telecaster for drop-D tunnings, and a lespaul as well . He also uses a marshall head, a peavey cab
