I'll agree a little. Whenever someone asks what music do I listen to, their expressions are always priceless.

"You mean the music where they go, '[all the weird disgusting noise they make]?'"

And then they will continue to talk about their own interests and start singing the latest hits. :/

lmao yes the looks are always priceless especially when they say "oh u mean like Linkin' Park?" :D

actually i don't mind them saying " oh you mean linkin park"

cause if they can accept that type of music, surely one way or another they'll be influence by other metal bands and sooner or later you'll find them listening to metallica and sooner that you know, "poof!" they become a metalhead.

lol

VIKING AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
where all my vikings at!?
i am deeply in love with viking/folk metal.
the fusion of folk and metal is damn genius.

That is no joke. It _is_ genius, in a serious tone - without the "damn". Folk music has existed for over 100,000 years, and the fusion of such primitive yet heavenly tunes with modern and not-making-sense chuggachugs is a brilliant form of macabre art.

haha the reason they say that is cos they've only heard of linkin park and they din even like it.

Yes! Especially using the various folk intruments!
Celtic comes under folk right? Bagpipes, bagpipes, bagpipes!

My 1st encounter with folk metal was finntroll and boy I was immediately impressed with the brilliant and catchy tunes.

Does folk metal includes bands like Salem and Orphaned Land?

They play with middle-eastern instruments and oh my, ingenious!
