Ok ok... We start new thread on this...
Menya Shinchan. Located at Riverside. Facing the inner courtyard.
handmade noodles. seafood or pork based soups. Quite power. I had the spicy thick pork bone soup. full of bone marrow bits. shiok shiok. but sibei hiam!!! Who says Japs cannot take spicy food??? (wasabi doesn't count).
The char siew was thick and juicy. Just too little of it. Only 2 pieces.
The egg is power. strongly flavoured, and the yolk is a bit soft and almost runny. The way Ken's Ramen does it!!! But better flavoured!!!
The real winner here was the noodles. Yes, it's not QQ or elastic like the hokkaido styles, but it's handmade, and the texture is similar the the ones used in Tampopo's black pig shabu shabu ramen. But better. A bit softer.
However, the soup, while string and flavourful, were a bit oily. Nust go try the Soya Seafood one next time. light soup... better be good.
Heh. On to Men Tei next!!!
