the Singapore Strat congregation...

can i? but i dun have a tele although i desire for one. paiseh leh...

just like the JEM , Les Paul , Explorer , FIrebird blah blah
u get the idea.

seems u like most shapes wil. ah for me anything with a nice figured top does it for me. only sold colour guitar i really think has mojo for me would be an entirely white strat with a full maple neck. that would just kick ass.

Ah... a Strat thread...

I have one too, MIM standard. All stock, "blocked" the trem with 5 springs. It's been my workhorse guitar ever since i started playing electric.

The versatilty of this instrument is just amazing. Like Chan Min said, everyone shld own a strat in their arsenal.

ah chanmin im still trying to decide between anderson and suhr. weighing the options cos im finally gonna settle down with one guitar. humbucker guitars all the way until now. should have bought the first am strat that i tried but a friend told me strats couldnt do metal and i was naive back then so i didnt get it but ive come full circle in my decision.

i know how you feel man ... 5-6 yrs ago.. my friend picked up a 62 reissue USA for about 1.5k sgd... few years after that , my neighbour got his 57 reissue USA for arnd 2k ... now the reissues cost even more... they keep rising in price....

if its a suhr and anderson debate... i honestly suggest you just get the suhr pickup system and the 60cycle hum killer back plate system. their base gutiars start at around 4.5k sgd if im not wrong. Scour the net for a nice american used strat ...fit in the system and you got yourself a very very power strat man ...

oh!! btw anyone wanna MO callham blocks for their strats?

"it's terribly overpriced for a simple design. but we can't blame the appreciating brand name IMO Fender deserves the accolades..."

I agree with the second part of the statement that Fender deserves praise, but how does one arrive at the conclusion that it's a 'simple design'?

Revisiting my only strat/guitar now:

1980s_am_fender_contemporar.JPG

Everything is stock, only shielding undertaken. (I broke the tremolo bar though, got a replacement bar.) I have no idea why I love the stock pickups on this strat so much. this is the only guitar that has stayed with me for 5 years. Something special about it that i can't describe. Hopefully i'll never have to sell this baby. :)

ah chanmin i prob got myself a suhr already with the v60s and the SSC. pretty good price. if u want ill ask the guy how much hes selling his v60s den maybe can ship it together with guitar to save cost.

thor if u ever think of selling that strat lemme be first in line to buy it. i dun care abt how it sounds but the look is just friggin amazing!!

nice strat man thor!

Pentatonic : yo man that would be AWESOME. i will definitely wanna get the Suhr V60LP s ... wont bother with the SSC though ... kinda steep. wait for other companies to make rip offs...

just blessed my strats with 5 strings in the back and blocked the trems. sounds alittle more jangly... dunno if its my imagination.

anyone else here sanded their glossed necks to satin? i did it on my jap strat and its FRIGGING awesome. 400/600grit sand paper is all you need man. Gonna do my 50th ann as well. shiokness

Or you can use Micro Mesh, which doesn't "cloud" the finish at all...

sheet where in the world do u guys get all these awesome looking aged strats? i think thor's strat is the ultimate. neuro urs is nice too but the body seems a little pink rather than a nice dirty yellow. but the neck looks good.

haha soon ill have a strat of my own. cant wait. but after that ill still aim for a nice plain white strat with maple board. but that will be a while from now.
