the Singapore Strat congregation...

then you should consider slapping on some dimarzios...
my strat initially had great clean but it couldnt handle metal...
i put in dimarzios viirtual solo / virtual 54(b) / virtual vintage blues

and it sings... though the virtual vintage blues doesnt give me all of the warmth i need. but its still good.

the bridge pickup ( virtual solo) is great for heavier styles... doesnt sound bad clean too!
the virtual 54 is a VERY VERY nice pickup..my in between positions sound very very "manhatten" now...

Instead of creating a new thread... i decided to revive this super old thread.

STRAT users!!!
recently i managed to acquire another strat.... it has the american standard 2pt fulcrum bridge and modern tuners. was wondering if anyone tried callaham trems before... etc... and what single coils you guys have been putting into your strats?

Wa 2 years old thread.. I don't think I was playing eguit then. Strats own. Mine's a HSS soon to be HSH. Versatile beasts strats are.

Still on stock pickups :) I have no idea why I just love the stock pickups on mine.

If it's a 2 point bridge, don't really need to change to Callaham. A ton of information and controversy about Callahams can be found at www.fenderforum.com, I'll leave you to read and judge for yourself. Just use the search function and look for "Callaham".

STRAT STRAT STRAT

I'm a strat person too! i've got 2 strats a squier one and a fender standard hss. with a dimarzio evo2 in bridge and 2 virtual vintage 2.1's in neck n middle. I want a h-s-h guitar tho and the strat contourz. So i'm savin to get a pot at g77. ask dennis or beez to make hehe. i've always liked the convinience of non locking trems. but i like the tuning stability of the ibanez zr trem... sadly they cant fit on strats unless i cut a cavity. which will cost me ALOT. at least alot for a 13 yr old student haha. ok thats my 2 cents worth. GET A STRAT!( only get humbucking strats with s-1 split coil technology!)

I am eyein the MIJ ST-62 strat in G77, anyone owns this ? any opinions on it? I have tried it, like the tone and touch and so forth. jus want some comments from people who own or tried it. :)

American standard owner here. Probably the same model as Chanmin's that's if fender didn't make any major alterations on it for the past 10 years. Pickups are still stock but it'll soon be replaced with Bill Lawrence pickups. Actually I've the BL pickups but I'm just a bit lazy to drag it all the way down to work before going to peninsular to have them installed.

the mij units are reallly great value for money.
heres pics of my two strats now.
my j-craft strat and my american 50th anniversary limited edition.

some how the american one sounds alot more "stratty" then the jap one..
***could be the higher action and true single coils though***
( or maybe my imagination)

thanks dude... spent 2hrs+ cleaning it up.... now all it needs is a good setup.
really considering callaham trem man ... asthetically...i dont really like the 2pt trem..prefer vintage trem. tonally i cant tell a diff.. but the trem block does look kinda puny.

nice man chanmin. which strat u used to record ur power rangers?
i still luv that one.

i am currently using a yamaha strat. the stock pups are damn fuzzy. just like my fren's fender's stocks

i have a cream white faded strat.. awesome sound although it looks quite battered when i bought it. btw, its about 10 years old.

changed the pickups to vintage noiseless, gives off a very raw & vintage-y sound.

any designs will do for me, but this strat provides a unique tone which both my ibanezes can never emulate even thru coil-splitting.

jus a qn : the size of the headstock doesnt affect the tone at all rite?
