the Singapore Strat congregation...

I wouldn't guarantee anything, given that guitars are made quite differently from one another. In general a heavier headstock would give you more sustain.

Remember though, sustain is not always favoured, depending on what you play and how you play.

hey neuro did you bring that white strat to G77 like last month or sumthing? i was ther with my pot tele... was that you?

cus i remember talking to someone about this old white strat..

yes it was me  i swapped my stock pickups with a vintage noiseless..

so the dude with that beautiful POT Tele is u ah. i muz haf been blind (then again, haven't seen u b4).

kewl~

Its exactly the same as the stock pickups I had except w/o hums & the output i find it to be relatively lower.

if u r a fan of raw vintage sound, this pickup set might appeal to u. it doesn't seem to appeal to me. i thought it was quite fantastic, but maybe im still into modern sound. im playing with it everyday to get the hang of it (although i m aleadi looking for much hotter replacements for this pickups).

i've changed my strat pups to hs3 (bridge) and two seymour duncan class stack plus for both neck and middle. They are noiseless and still retain the traditional single coil sound. A normal single coil on the bridge is way too thin souding or sharp whether it is on clean or distorted. For rhythm on clean, we would usually use the 2nd or 4th position. So it would advisable to change to a humbucking single coil on the bridge to off-set the high treble and thin sounding when playing on the bridge.

suddenly, my Strat jus awoken from it slumber. i plug it strai8 into my amp & it begins to roar!! awesome shite~

i adjusted the neck & bridge height.. now they are giving me wat i want - NOISE!!

hmm for myself... having been playing with the kinmans .. i do find the bridge pickup extremely usable. Most single coils will tend to have the nasty ice pick. But having used humbucking singlecoils and other noiseless offerings before.. id really live with it and roll off the tone then to lose the strat twang in the 4 and 5 positions.

The true single coil really comes to live when you plug in direct ... it really inspires one to get all tru-bypass pedals and tone coloration becomes frowned upon like its syphilis.
What i do to overcome this is to use my BBE sonic stomp to match my direct to amp tone. If i do feel its still lacking that sparkle and beef i'll kick in the xotic rc booster. BB preamp will come soon as soon as mr misse stocks come in!!

been gasing real bad for a set of john suhr v60lps ...anyone have a set for sale??
- the reviews/clips/vids are absolutely mouth dropping.

ordering direct from suhrguitars.com will be like ... 90usd per pup ...

just emailed the singapore dealer .. hope he has a more reasonable price...
if not its ebay hunting time..

i been looking at a cheap strat to mess around on, and so far the SX ash series tops the list.
as for the squiers, the only main difference between affinity and california is that affinity has alder and california basswood body right?

I possess a Squier Strat. Everything's stock though. And tremolo is damaged so I had it blocked.

I'll prolly have the bridge pup replaced with a Blue Velvet Bridge in the future.

Love strats, but it MUST be huge headstock. I just looooove huge headstocks. Makes the guitar looks good.

Also planning to get a cream bodied Strat in several years.

i use a yamaha pacifica 112J now with stockpups.
its still a strat.
it sounds ok. but i wish i have a fender in my hands :(

why no tele congregation?
