In my personal opinion, it doesn't matter if your command of the language isn't fantastic. As long as both parties understand each other, all's good.
As much as I am for the idea of promoting better linguistic skills and a better grasp of the English Language, I am very much against the idea of "tutoring" others on the Internet, and being a complete grammar/spelling nazi to posts on an INTERNET FORUM.
An internet forum is a very informal place for people to share ideas and discuss about the various going-ons of society, or anything in particular. In such an informal setting, I don't think its fair to demand proper spelling, grammar or sentence structure.
Ie. "WTS ENG TXTBK $5 NEG" compared to "Looking for a buyer to purchase my English Textbook for $5. Price is negotiable."
The first example is short and sweet, and it gets the message across.
