The Bassist's Effects Line Up

Yeah they're vinyls... probably older than you and me combined too :) Original Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band album!

You're correct; it's a Mammoth

It was a gift from a friend... one of the 10th anniversary one-off custom paint jobs that they did a few years ago :) Used to say 1 of 1 on the bottom until a freak velcro accident ripped off the paint when I was trying to take it off my board last year. Only one in the world!

haha i know that. but alot of pedals don't discriminate between guitar and bass, like alot of modulation and compression pedals.

his pedals are BOOTEEK with a capital 'B'. and some of them do sound awesome on the bass. i've ever bought a pedal from him before. but i ended up selling it because i am retarded :(

don't worry. let us divert our attention to pedals. but first,

my current setup. still not finished yet but i like how it's shaping up

arger capricorn > DE/E13 dark boost > ehx nano bassballs > ehx stereo electric mistress > korg pitchblack

here's the story:

the arger came in plain purple. the design was something i had a friend help me design based on original artwork. i didn't want to pay an extra 30 euro for the art, plus a longer building time.

it stacks really well with the DB. the DB adds balls and cuts off some 'irritating' highs. plus it adds gain which is aggressive without being to messy. beauty of stacking.

prefer this to my previous stack of ehx english muff'n > DE KP. though that one did subtle better (the muff'n is the best OD i've ever used on a bass)

nano bassballs, internal trimpots tweaked so that the 2 filters are wide open. sounds much better than stock, though the distortion switch has a sharp volume spike. but it stacks much better with my fuzz.

like i said i still haven't finished yet, top priority for a compressor and blend. then maybe a mild od/distortion and a preamp

not yet tested on the road though (too many acoustic sets)

the dark boost looks way retro man. by the way was curious - what patch cables do you use? i know those 2.50 cents one always spoil and cause distortion (and when I was a younger player I actually thought it was the pedals and sold them off - oh how stupid)... Ha ha

all the patch cables are those custom ones. not that i had them custom made, but they are pre-made by a number of shops. i think i got them from tymc. also can be found at luther, beez, and most shops that do guitar servicing :) i think a 15cm patch cable will cost $5-6.

the cable is canare GS-4, the heads are some unknown flat angled heads

i would rather post clips, but i have no recording equipment... but what i can say is that what you get is very close to what you hear on the youtube vids

there's the also capricorn plus, which has a mosfet boost blend included

from the clips the malekko b:assmaster sounds good, and the earthbound audio supercollider has very good reviews if u are looking for something muff-ish
