The Bassist's Effects Line Up

3nab: very interesting.. the VFB2. so how exactly does it help when you're switching between passive and active basses?

so what's the proel footswitch for, and any usable settings on the ZOOM B2?

i saw this noisemaker set up on the effector 13 website.. and felt damn gian to try it all out again..

Actually its just helps when I use active basses with the Woolly Mammoth Fuzz. Typically high-output basses will make the Mammoth sound small and comical, so the custom VFB's impedance control alleviates that.

The Proel is a volume pedal. I mainly use the Zoom B2 for modulation efx, and the sansamp model. Things like Chorus, Phaser, Flanger, Octaver, Reverb, Delay sound acceptable on it. Asides from these efx, I absolutely hate everything else on the B2 lol!
 
hey goose, i hear the new vbf-2 will have an expression pedal in jack too. i would have gotten one from you but i think a fixed blend with a volume pedal to control distortion amount would be better for bass.

hahha .. welcome to the club ... sadly i sold my EBS octabass off already .. =( ... JiveB is the proud owner of it now ...

i have the same CE--2B bass chorus pedal ... amazing stuff man .. i can't bear to sell that away, it has taken a place in my tonal arsenal ... but when i get my PODxt LIVE it'll have to go ..
 
i might be selling my bassballs pedal in a few weeks if my barge concepts experiment doesn't work out. if ur interested i'll hold it for you and we can work out a price. special smu old boy price :P

as for bass overdrive, talkbass seems pretty hyped over the homebrew hematoma and the bjf blueberry. for something available locally, there's always the awesome english muffin.
 
I just gotten my bassballs Nano today... Just nice to fit inside the little space below my punch factory.

For overdrive, I'm thinking of ordering the modded Bad Monkey aka Badder Monkey for Bass

Limited pedal board space mah... and it's getting super heavy liaoz =/

ride on anthony's monstrosity thing la hahaha. how's the nano? i tested teh nano clone and it's nothing like the original. thin and weak sounding. not lush and organic like the original. but i hear the problem is mainly with the nano clone unit only. hope your nano bassballs is smashing!
 
The nano sounds almost similar to the originial, without the bulk of coz.. but then, I maybe wrong...

But as long as I'm happy can liaoz, that's the most important thing in life!

Eh.. anthony's pedalcart is abit too much for me... I think I have to buy a Honda Airwave or those Van-Cars to transport both our equipment for shows
