B33r

Haha b33r I got my walnut jazz from a trade. Had to give up my Warwick Streamer LX IV (violet with gold hardware, PJ config) for that darling. Heartpain also.

aaaahhhhh so it was you! the guy was also considering trading with me but he decided to go for yours LOL

just curious, on your 62 jazz how comes the pickups look higher on the E string than the G string? Think normally the pickups are slightly higher at the G string.

it looks like the pickguard is raised on the right side because it doesn't fit well with the J-retro, maybe that's why it looks like that end of the pickup is lower.

and btw it looks like the G-string is slightly out of alignment with the pickup poles. is the BAII slotted?

i prefer the stock look though, with the black pickguard and hardware. very nice.

what are each of the knobs on the deluxe p for?

My main bass

Fender CIJ 75'RI, olym white with matching headstock, blocks and binding.

Modded with : Audere JZ3 onboard pre, Badass 2, Dunlop Straplocks and SD 1/4 pounders.

i think jbarker's was cream/off-white.

@cloud: where did you get all those mounting screws from?

freak this is GAS inducing.

yea. took it from jbarks and disfigured it muhaha.

b33r: erm. mounting screws? what are u referring to? for the covers? or what.

oh, since you got it from jbarker means he provided the covers and stuff. cuz normally the replacement covers from Fender don't include the mounting screws.

are MIJs made with 3-bolt necks as standard? very strange because while other manufacturers are making them with more than 4, 3 is a bit suprising

thx for the info. all the jazzes there look crazy awesome. i might zhng my bass but i just splashed the cash for a PJB amp on ebay. so i might be selling an amp over the next couple of weeks. stay tuned...

You're right about the pickguard not fitting well, resulting in the pickups looking high and low at the wrong places. When I outfitted it with the BAII, both Kelvin from GC and myself did not have time to wait for the filings to be done. Going down another day for the filings.

I'd prefer the stock looks too, but Cherns ran out of Black J-Retros when I sent it to him for grounding and shielding. So didn't bother to wait and asked him to just do the switch with whatever colour that was in stock.

Deluxe knobs (starting from the black knob downwards) are Volume, P/J Pickup blend, Tone (with active/passive pushpull switch), Treble/bass stacked knobs, and lastly Mid.

hmmmm... hmmmmhmhmmhmhmmmmmmmm
hold your horses, the ultimate test will only come when i actually do put it up for sale. which will not be so soon. advance warning given already.

while i would like to be a proud owner of both a pjb and a markbass, i am afraid i can't afford to.

but at least i will have the chance to A/B them
