Thanks guys It's a fretless 4 Ristola I just scored and is still enroute from vPost.

I've not bought a bass for myself in the past 3 years, but when I saw this one, I just knew I had to get it. Don't ask me why. It's just one of those things Same as the first time I set my eyes on a Nordstrand. I'm sure it's going to be special!

Oh, and I'm going to fit in an ACG preamp into it. I've discovered from my Wal that a filter based preamp + fretless bass = tonal heaven.

cool i have never seen such a closeup shot of an ashbory... the silicone strings are freaky. how do the pickups work on such a thing??

pity they dont sell replacement strings here. last time got one fella tried desperately to find them

its piezo pups. but authenthic upright bass sound. it handles like a toy... even the strings have a rubber band feel!
