The Bass Picture Gallery

throw in some nordstrand pickups and a nice aggie preamp and you'll have a stingray copy ... withouth the price .. =)

hmm, Nordstrand pickups & the real MusicMan Stingray... yah, nothing beats the real thing. Still far, still far, i work harder on practising the 5-string first.

btw, the MM3 was made in China, surprisingly, it's not that bad. :)

sound-wise, it has a good range: the passive pickups sounded normal; when treble all up, it's good for slap & pop.

neck is straight, i lifted the saddles a little to prevent buzzing, giving moderate string-action.

no idea about the body material, neck should be maple, but it is heavy...

overall, the build feels solid.

happy with it. 8)

Deanz, you got a 6-string now, you'll feel something missing if you go back to 4 or 5.

It has a nice narrow spacing which is similar to the ibanez btb series.

Are you still learning from Josh?
Which basses you using now ah?

yeah im learnin from josh at lasalle. Now im using a bass collection bass. Need to get another one now cause my BC is getting quite banged up. Thought of buying a TRB6.

btw you're quoting page 29 right?
what's that thumbrest doing on a fender jazz then, instead of the tbird?

nothing new... but just to revive this sort of dead thread... here's my mij atk100 with black beauty strings... too bad the strings don't sound as good as they look :(

if you notice behind, there's my project bass... currently a bit naked without pickups so no pics yet... there's gonna be a bass whammy and some very naked ebony/ash shown when its done

i heard one in action before ... pretty cool stuff .. it was some warmoth experiemental bass they had ...

Nice bass! What's wrong with the black beauty strings? It looks wicked to me
Does it sounds mellower than the usual nickle wound? I like mellow sound, not those bright sound.

hey warwickw hows the spacing like on the 7 string conklin? Is it really narrow? Or 16 mm and above?

Actually I had the bass in my car on sun, didn't have enough time to try it out though. Well at least your BC is rather light, easier to carry and won't get tired.
