Tertiary Jrock Band Competition in NUS

Would be great if you can post up some info/details about this. At least bands can check it out and see if they are interested in it :)

okay here's some small info then. The event will be held either in Sep/Oct or Jan/Feb, with hopefully about 8-10 bands joining. Each band will play 2-3 Japanese songs, covers or originals(originals must be in japanese), and the best band will win. It will be held in NUS Lecture Theatre 13, which is actually a mini performance hall. Prizes, exact dates have yet to be decided.

"If possible the event will be named along the lines of "Singapore's No. 1 Jrock Band" basically indicating that the winner is the best in the local Jrock scene. I believe there has yet to be such an event held."

Winner for the this event determines the Best in Local JRock Scene? lol~ I'm amused  Perharps a better way to phrase it as in Best out of the Bands participating. Just my 2 cents.

Good day :D

Why not? As long as the interested and abled bands do join. While I won't dare claim the winner is the best band in Singapore or something as atrocious as that, the tag of being the best in SG Jrock scene is still possible to claim of. So bands, if you think you are better in Jrock than our famous marionette, LGF, Defuse, etc, join the event and prove your worth!!! HEHEHE...

Yeapz.... Right now still a bit far off to talk about it in detail but rest assured i will get more info posted up as the event draws closer.

Hmm.. something interesting..

possible to give examples of what are the bands that are considered as Jrock?

Pardon me for my little understanding and confusion in the genre. Is Shiina Ringo or Tokyo Jihen considered as Jrock or more of experimental or something?

And.. How abt D.A.I or E.L.T?

Hope you can give a few examples of bands you considered as Jrock and which is not, as I believe different people have different understanding.

Hope you can clear up my doubt. Thanks.
