Hello ppl,
i've been been tryin to find strings that the plain strings don't corrode fast.
I've just realised that all PLain strings(G,B,E) are all made of STEEL!!!! -.-
i may be slow to find out lol.

i went searching for steel strings hoping they will last longer cos i thought nickel strings sucks.
now i realised that steel is easier to corrode than nickel which is y my wound strings all nv rust...
IS MY DISCOVERY CORRECT?

damn how slow am i man...
if they made plain strings coated with nickel i think they would last longer...

Elixirs are very pricey, and from what I've heard, the G-string tends to snap very easily. But I wouldn't know, never used Elixirs because my uncoated strings last long enough.

Perhaps try D'addario EXPs first, and if they aren't good enough, then move on to Elixirs.

obviously all strings have to have some form of iron or steel somewhere for the magnets in the pickups to work with the strings eh. but in relation to your 'discovery' its mostly stated on the packaging of strings that the plain strings are coated with nickel. its only when this nickel coating starts to wear then it will rust sacrificially for the steel within. make any sense?

the daddario bluff ppl one. wear out just like normal strings.

I've always liked DR Strings, not just for the tone but for its lifespan. My Tite-Fits are uncoated, and with an application of Dr Duck's Ax Wax and String Lube after every playing session, they've lasted 3 months without any smell. Of course they look a little dull, its rather expected given i play pretty often. Usually i change my strings once they start to smell. DRs have never lasted shorter than 5 months for me, in my 5 years of playing.

Ernie Balls for tone, Elixirs for long-lasting life.

Most like the sound of Ernie Balls fresh out of the pack, some like it worn out... I like it when its in the middle, slightly broken in, but still singing...

Elixirs... Well, there is a reason why its called Elixirs...

Everything in between can just waltz around for all I care... Hahaha... my cent's worth...

To each's own. Bright steels, and mellowed out nickel... That's the way its been for years, and hopefully for many more to come...
